UPDATE - After three months of semi heavy traffic - holiday parties and my Shepherds using it daily as a wrestling mat - it has broken in nicely. It also cleans up easily! Overall happy with this one... ☺ UPDATE - we were in a bind and ended up using the rug in our living room. For the size and price, you will not beat this deal. It does look nice in our room, so I'm giving it a solid 4 stars now. The texture is almost crunchy when you walk on it, and it is def not a 2" pile, but other than that, it's a steal of a deal for under $150. This was a massive disappointment. The rug is super cheap and I am crazy sad because it looks so nice and plush in the images. The pile is half of what is advertised and it is super thin. The price was a steal for the size but now I know why. This bad boy is going back. Sad day.

The rug looks better in the photo than it does when receiving it. I'm knocking one star off because it's clearly an ivory and I searched all over Amazon for a white one. This one claimed to be. I'm knocking two stars off for the plushness, or lack thereof in this case. I've vacuumed it and tried to fluff it up but I can see the backing through it. I've bought several rugs on Amazon and was pleased with them but I'm not pleased with my recent purchase. I had already thrown the box away on trash day before opening it, or I'd ask for a return/refund.

This is a nice 8'X10' area rug. Picture is accurate depiction. Made out of tight twist polypropelene yarn, A tight twist holds it's retention better than a loose yarn. This is best desribed as a Casual Look Short Shag Rug. However Polypropelene has a very low friction melting point. Ex., dragging furinture on it will melt the yarn from the friction. Any and all furniture must be lifted vertically and carried off. Not dragged. Yet wears well with normal foot traffic and easy to clean. I would not describe it as being "soft". Rather, "firm". A nice little rug.

My teen daughter told me no old lady rugs for her room. So we started searching together for a neutral (me) shaggy (her) rug. We looked at all the usual places and found that this rug on Amazon was priced very fair and would be delivered to our door. You can't beat that and I have had to drag rugs home from the store and it is not fun. It rolled out really very flat and the vac on a high setting made it look good. I am pleased at how well it continues to vac and the canister is not filled with lint after having it for a month. No weird odor or anything like that either. My older daughter wants this rug in gray for her room. If you are into soft shaggy rugs this is a great value and I would buy it again.

I’ve had this rug for a few days so far. I was surprised by the quality of Safavieh rugs and couldn’t wait to submit a review. The first thing I noticed was how good the rug smelled. Some rugs that are purchased online have a weird chemical smell after being shipped. However, this rug smelled very fresh and I love how it continues to make the living area smell. This particular shag rug is very good if you want to create an urban/modern look and the pile height seems easy to clean without damaging the quality. I’m not objectively able to rate how easy it is to clean the rug yet. This is why I haven’t rated the rug in that area. I tend to vacuum daily or every other day. However, I don’t have a lot of traffic in the area where the rug is placed, so I wanted to wait for 1 week before vacuuming. If anyone else has had experience cleaning this particular shag rug, please let me know.

Having 2 dogs, with 1 being 16 yrs old, I didn't want to invest in an expensive rug. I realize that this is a cheap rug, but it's bad. I can see the base foundation fabric. It is horribly thin. I had purchased a larger sized cheaper rug from Home Depot and it's 100 times better than this Safavieh one. Since the smaller size I also needed was out of stock at Home Depot, I purchased this Safavieh rug. I was really surprised by the poor quality of this rug, because I already have a beautiful large Safavieh shag in my den that is beautiful. I never expected such a poor quality rug from Safavieh. Very disappointed!

The area rug is not as pictured. The underlayment of the rug is dark black, red, blue and shows through. It is possibly the worst purchase I have ever made on Amazon, and I make a lot of them. In addition the seller would not refund me fully. They stated that I would need to pay $40 for shipping and a 20% restocking fee. Thankfully Amazon is awesome!! I filed a claim and they refunded me completely. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER! DO NOT BUY THIS RUG! it is poor quality and is not as pictured
