The media could not be loaded. I am really surprised at the quality. I paid $35 for this in the 3x5 size. It’s worth way more imo. I bought it for my entry way. I’m living in a rental and the quality of the “wood” flooring (actually crappy mdf or pressed cardboard, like theee worst flooring material you could imagine) in my house is awful. I bought a huge area rug for my living area to cover the crappy floor but I have two dogs, 3 kids and a construction working husband constantly in and out. I didn’t want my new beautiful rug to get destroyed, and trust me, if you could only see the amount of dirt they track into this house!! It’s insane! I needed something durable and able to trap dirt etc to stop it from getting tracked further into the house and onto to my beautiful new area rug. The first rug I bought for the entryway was beautiful.. at least on the Amazon listing. Big blue monstera leaves for the pattern, advertised as an entry rug, among all the other uses. I was really disappointed when I opened it. If you look at my Amazon profile, you’ll find the reviews of that rug (and of the new area rug) to see for yourself. The pattern was printed onto the top of what was a very flimsy, albeit soft, nonskid rug like something you would only use for staging or decor. That rug cost me over $40 3x5. I immediately went back on Amazon and ordered this. It came securely packaged in a roll, wrapped in plastic, taped, wrapped tightly in more plastic, and taped again. I was very happy to see how it was shipped because I’ve ordered rugs before that came shipped in a roll with no plastic protection, like literally just slapped the shipping label right on the rug. I unrolled it and the end was curled which is expected. I walked away to find something to find something heavy to set on it to help flatten it and by the time I came back it was completely flat lol. It is rough on the feet which is exactly what I was looking for to help trap the dirt. It doesn’t hurt and it isn’t unpleasant to be barefoot on. It is real natural material and extremely well made with a thick fabric material securely sewn on the outside border. I am so pleased with it that I ordered a second one and the same size so I can set one in front of the entry for my garage door where I keep the cats litter box. I have been looking for a litter box mat and realized this couldn’t be any more perfect for that purpose, and is literally lightyears better (and cheaper) than litter box mats of the same size. I am going to buy a third for right outside my front door too, and may buy a runner to go under patio furniture I have under the awning on the narrow walkway in front of my house. This rug is very well made and feels like nice quality for a natural fiber rug. It did have a slight odor when first unrolled, but it faded after airing out. The craftsmanship is solid, and it lays nicely in the space. Overall, a great option if you’re looking for a durable, natural-looking rug.

UPDATE: We bought the round version of this rug 4 years ago for our round dining table and it's still holding up beautifully. No problems with it whatsoever. We're amazed by this. After many spills, etc. still no stains or issues with it falling apart. So when we moved and got a rectangular dining table, we put the round rug under our coffee table and got this one for the dining area. It's the same quality as the round one and looks great as you can see. The color is slightly different from the round one but not so much you could tell unless you were really looking. As we said in our original review below, the natural fiber is not soft, so beware. If you have skinny chair legs, they will get stuck pulling them in and out. The bottom is lined with a semi-non-skid material so you can still slide the whole rug on a hardwood floor but it's not slippery. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Not knowing anything about rugs I rely on the description to help me understand what they look and feel like. In this case, I dock one star because I was surprised by three things about this rug. 1. The feel of the material is much harder than I thought it would be. There's no softness to it at all. I guess that's what is meant by "natural fiber" but as I said, I don't know about rugs. 2. It's more textured than I thought it would be. I can see the weave in the photos but it's even more pronounced than the pictures tell. Chair legs, etc. will not slide on this rug. 3. It's darker than the photos show. Dark beige is more like it. Still though, very nice. Overall though, it's a very well made rug and we're happy with the purchase. The bottom is lined with a semi-non-skid material. You can still slide the whole rug but it's not slippery. The weave is tight and precise as well as the border keeping it all together. Bonus points for fast shipping. I ordered two 6' runners, both with the burgundy border. One's natural fibers were cut at a crooked angle so the 'pattern' didn't line up with the side/border. The border on that one was a nice burgundy color. The other one had faded border material; looked like it'd been in the sun for awhile. Next to each other in the same low light hallway it looks like two different colors. Even though the company does refunds they don't pay shipping and you can't drop it off at Whole Foods or another return area, they make you ship UPS or Fedex at your expense ($$$). I wouldn't mind if I was returning because I changed my mind but I'm returning due to the quality of both rugs. I wouldn't buy from this company again. ... show more

It has a very strong odor. I have sprinkled baking soda, used a lavender room mist on it, but it's still quite odiferous. Also, there are many snags that protrude out and my house slippers will get caught on it. I mention my house slippers because it hurts to be barefoot. Looks great in our space.
