beautiful, quality wool carpet. i got at a great price to replace a cheap rectangular rug from man-made materials that had led to fading of bamboo floor (not sure if it was from sunlight or an interaction with the materials - bamboo is finicky that way). this fabric-backed rug shouldn’t have that problem. as expected, the wool is a little scratchy on the skin (eg, if you sit on it) but it’s comfy underfoot and the dog enjoys sprawling out in it. variegated coloring is very forgiving (at least, in the blue). it’s normal for wool rugs to shed, but it doesn’t seem like a lot to me (i run a robovac w/good suction every other day). safavieh is a great brand & i expect to enjoy this for many years ... show more

Love this rug runner. It's thick enough not to need a matt under it. Doesn't stay 100% in place (you'd need carpet take for that), but does not slip. It's soft and durable. Made of wool so resists stains/cleans up well - I've had it in may main hallway for about 1 year and it's held up perfectly.

This is my All Time Favorite rug!!! As you see from the photo of my boys this rug brings SUCH amazing style to this any room!!!! I was looking for a rug with blues in it and this is perfect! FYI it does shed some of the wool (especially when it’s brand new). We have had it for almost a year and it looks great even with 3 young boys in our main living area and play space! It is not as soft as synthetic but it is wool and did soften some after vacuuming and with use. I can’t say enough - I Love this rug! ... show more

I was somewhat concerned when buying this rug that the darker colors would be more prominent in the rug and be more toward a darker black color, but they are not. The darker tones are more dark blue, but are not overwhelming. Even my younger daughter commented on how nice it looked. I was nervous getting a rug from a photo but it’s nicer than I even imagined. The colors are perfect. It could look blue or green depending on the other colors in the room. It is wool so it will shed fibers for a while. But it will last forever also. Very nice rug.

I've had this rug for 2 years now. It has a very pretty pattern and it's a decent thickness. I bought it because I was interested in a natural fiber rug and since this one was made from wool, it suited my preferences. I had read reviews that it sheds a lot, and once I brought it home and vacuumed I will agree with this. So I contacted Amazon to return it but the sellers, or perhaps it was Amazon, persuaded me to reconsider by offering a discount in price of about 2/3 of the cost. So I decided to keep it. Overall, it's an attractive rug. But I wouldn't buy it again due to the shedding and the fact that it hasn't aged well. It has a few pulls and loose loops. I probably could have avoided all of this had I gone with a less expensive, polyester rug. ... show more
