Description

The Safariland Model 6005 Tactical holster is built for comfort as well as functionality. This Tactical holster features the Self Locking System (SLS™) rotating hood system which is so well suited for the tactical situations encountered today. The hood on the Model 6005 holster can only be released by being simultaneously pushed down and rotated forward and actually becomes more secure when upward force is applied. The STX Tactical finish of the holster is rugged, protecting the gun in scrape, scratch and dent incidents. Molded sight track and soft SafariSuede™ protect the gun's sights and finish. A special feature of the Model 6005 is the double leg strap and the leg shroud with a quick release leg harness.

It is made solid, but it was difficult to draw the weapon, probably because the internal synthetic suede seems to grip to the gun's slide. Might have gotten better as it wore in a bit. The item was supposed to be new but was clearly opened before it was sent to us. Also, there were parts missing that should have been included and we had to purchase them elsewhere. I would say the description was misleading at best.

This holster doesn't need much explaining, it have several levels of retention which is a must in law enforcement. The particular holster is mean for a Glock 17 with a light attachment. I currently have a Surefire X300 Ultra and it fits with a minor modifiication otherwise and other light attachment will fit just fine. The rig allows for quick detachment which comes in handy when the mission changes, that way you don't have to carry several different rigs with you. This is a fairly comfortable setup and has been extremely durable even through the heavy use I have put it through. Great company doing great things... ... show more
