Description

The Safariland Model 6005 Tactical holster is built for comfort as well as functionality. This Tactical holster features the Self Locking System (SLS™) rotating hood system which is so well suited for the tactical situations encountered today. The hood on the Model 6005 holster can only be released by being simultaneously pushed down and rotated forward and actually becomes more secure when upward force is applied. The STX Tactical finish of the holster is rugged, protecting the gun in scrape, scratch and dent incidents. Molded sight track and soft SafariSuede™ protect the gun's sights and finish. A special feature of the Model 6005 is the double leg strap and the leg shroud with a quick release leg harness.

For anyone not familiar with Safariland, your looking at company that builds holsters for those who's lives depends on their firearms. In my limited opinion, these are some of the finest off-the-shelf holsters available to the masses. The quality of this drop leg holster is evident as soon as you zip open the retail packaging. Heavy duty Nexus QD buckles, substantial leg straps that wont lose their elasticity after a few uses, max adjustability without being a complete rats nest of straps and gimmicky nonsense. What you'll get is a super clean, comparatively compact rig for your hand cannon. No break in time necessary. Sig 220R fit perfect at factory set tension but it can be adjusted if needed. Retention system and operation well thought out too. Price jumped after two nights of sitting in my checkout cart. I added to cart at $65 and within 48 hours, I received a price change notification. It was still a good price at $95 so I pulled the trigger (no pun intended). These are typically listed $145 and up. I own a Blackhawk Serpa leg rig as well and though, there's two belt loops at opposing ends, the Safariland rig is equally if not more stable on the leg and once again, a bit stealthier based on the overall size of the rig. Fit and weapon placement is great. Very durable so far. Holds weapon very secure and after a bit of practice it becomes natural on drawing the weapon from the holster. The only think I could call a criticism is the retention loop that holds the weapon in. It needs to be pushed up the beavertail and the rubber seems like it needs a relief area cut away so resecuring the weapon is easier and more of a positive lock. ... show more
