Description

The SADDLE-A-BOUT Leather Guitar Armrest is a simple, natural, aesthetic, and non-invasive solution to the age-old problem of protecting the soundboard finish from the devastating effect of perspiration and oils caused by playing with a sleeveless garment. Each saddle is handmade in USA using high quality genuine leather. The Patented Design keeps the saddle off the soundboard so that the only contact is on the rim to minimize any sound deadening effect. Comes in Three Sizes: To determine the right size for you, simply measure the depth of the guitar (back to soundboard) at desired point of contact with your arm. (See images for proper lower bout depth measurement) SMALL - fits lower bout depths of 3.5″ – less than 4″ MEDIUM - will fit lower bout depths of 4.0″ – less than 4.5″ LARGE - fits lower bout depths of 4.5″ to 5″ “Measure twice and order once”! (or more ;?) NOTE: Small suction cups are used to keep the Saddle-A-Bout in place, however the Saddle-A-Bout can also be used without the cups while in the playing position. Simply remove the cups from the holes. The suction cups are generally safe to use on a wide range of finishes, but if you have an expensive french polished/shellac finish or if your guitar is finished with nitro-cellulose laquer, check with the maker before using this product. For matte finishes, it may be necessary to use a product such as the Kling-On Guitar Support Sucton-Cup Protector. Keep the suction cups clean and dry before applying and use only during playing time until you are comfortable with the outcome. The Dark Brown Saddle-A-Bout has a Medium/Soft Temper with a Matte Finish which Provides for Good Perspiration Absorption and Comfort in Normal Conditions. The Mahogany Saddle-A-Bout has a Medium/Soft Temper with a Matte Finish which Provides for Good Perspiration Absorption and Comfort in Normal Conditions. The ”Blondie” Saddle-A-Bout Uses a Nubuck Suede Leather which has a Medium/Soft Temper but also Provides the Greatest Absorption and Comfort in High Perspiration Environments. Stand-alone Mahogany Saddle-A-Bout The Saddle-A-Bout will fit most common shaped classical and acoustic guitars and stores easily in the case on or off the guitar! Fits on Guitar in Case Dark Brown Leather Mahogany Leather “Blondie” Nubuck Leather Comes in Three Sizes: To determine the right size for you, simply measure the depth of the guitar (back to soundboard) at desired point of contact with your arm. abunda_amazon_reviews I am really pleased with this purchase. It is a fantastic idea for many reasons. In my case, I'd bought a Taylor GS Mini guitar to use as my couch guitar. Unfortunately, the edges of the guitar body come together at a sharp right angle, which really hurt my right arm as I played. (When shopping for it, I noticed that quite a few acoustic guitars are made that way now.) I was ready to return the guitar, which I really didn’t want to do. I did some googling to see if there was anything out there to solve this problem for me. I saw things you could stick to the guitar such as wood armrests, but that seemed a bit extreme, since I read they could be difficult to remove if you changed your mind. Then I read about this product and saw the potential and figured why not try it before I returned the guitar? Great news--it totally solved the problem, the guitar is super comfortable to play now and I can enjoy it without pain. I am so happy! It totally relieved the pressure on my forearm from that sharp edge and now I don't have those deep indentations from the edge either. I use it without the suction cups since I'm just sitting and the SAB doesn't move around at all. It's nice to have the with or without suction cup option--very well thought out. And it doesn't feel obtrusive either, just nice and cushioned. You forget it's there, which is nice. I purchased the small size, and it fits around the GS bout perfectly. I like to push mine back a bit from the way it's pictured since the guitar body is very small, and it seems to hug the curve of the lower bout regardless of where it is placed. I plan on buying a few more for my other guitars, since I've noticed recently that my forearm gets a bit sore after playing on all of my guitars. I am so grateful that Saddle-A-Bout exists and that the inventor realized there was a need and then solved the problem.
