No brainer replacement/repair/upgrade!
I purchaced a used Yamaha CG-100A classical guitar for a song on Craigslist, but it had been unplayed for 20 years. Stock tuners had seen beter days, wobbly, creaky, not keeping new strings in tune. Read a few Classical guitar forums, and the reviews here, so went with these budget Gotoh 35G420 tuners. Install was flawless on the Yamaha CG-100A as the screw holes lined up exactly. Easy as pie upgrade! Holding tune thus far! Pretty, not $200 slick, but they certainly dressed up this student model guitar and I like the lyre look. Took about 10 min. to install, slowly screwing them in and adjsuting tension slowly. Solid. If you have an older/troublesome student classical in need of new tuners, go for these. Better off with a name brand then saving $10 on something thats not as well regarded as the Gotoh brand.

Genuine Gotoh in retail packaging. Fast shipping. Includes screws.
I've tried a few of the inexpensive classical tuners. The $12 sets I have tried for inexpensive guitars are really very poor in my experience. Not smooth. Not well made. Buy the least expensive tuners from a company that makes expensive tuners. You'll spend $25 instead of $12 and be much more satisfied. Purchased from AmplifiedParts. Excellent quality. Delivered from 2500 miles away in two days in an honest to goodness cardboard shipping box! These tuners are Genuine Gotoh tuners. The specific Gotoh part number for these is 35G420. They arrived in retail packaging. They are 14:1 gear ratio. The Amazon listing describes these as "antique gold" which led me to believe that they would be a bit more "antique" than they actually are. The package describes the finish as "Semi Gold" which I would describe simply as "gold" but the finish is less garish and cheap-looking than your typical inexpensive gold tuners. These were a bit more than the least expensive gold tuners for classical guitars, but their appearance is superior, and I would assume their function is, as well (since I have yet to install them). FINALLY, THE SMALL GOLD SCREWS NEEDED FOR INSTALLATION ARE PROVIDED IN A SMALL PLASTIC BAG. Most of the "parts bin" tuners don't come with these. These tuners are a great balance of quality versus purchase price. If you want a set without the LYRE or LYRA decoration at the top, I can also recommend Golden Gate F-2110 which I have bought. These are simply well made. They are attractive. Don't look too cheap. Operate very smoothly.

Good value for price, fine upgrade to 50-year-old tuners
These tuning heads seem well made. They match the style of the originals from my guitar very closely. The screws provided with the tuners are considerably too long for my headstock (which does not have particularly thin outer walls, as far as I can tell). I reused the screws from the original tuners, which worked fine. I would like for these to turn more smoothly, two of them in particular, even with appropriate teflon lubricant on them. However, the improvement over the almost inoperable originals is very good.

Great product great price
I used these for a nice older classical guitar and they work great especially for the price. I have never received any Gotoh tuners that weren’t excellent. These are their inexpensive ones but still better than tuners twice their price

An inexpensive and beautiful way to upgrade your classical guitar!
These beautiful gold toned tuners installed with perfect fit and, with the lyre figure at the top, look very classy! The 14:1 ratio allows for accurate tuning and very smooth winding. I am impressed with the tension control, the accuracy, the ease of installation and the very upscale appearance of these tuners. Delivery was early and they were well packaged. I highly recommend this Gotoh set for any guitarist who wants an attractive upgrade!

Perfect fit for my Takamine C128
One of the plastic tuner knobs on my 38 year old Takamine C128 classical guitar was cracked and then finally broke recently. I found this replacement set of tuners at Amazon which looked identical to what was my guitar. It arrived quickly, new-in-box and packed well for shipping. Screws included. Finish appears to be shiny gold plating, not "antique" unless that refers to the style of the metalwork or knobs. My only drawback was that the "engraving" pattern is not as ornate as my originals. The replacement look and fit was simply perfect. Holes aligned perfectly, and it went on extremely easy. The action for each tuner was smooth and uniform, and the tuning holds as much as stretchy nylon strings will allow. I am pleased. My guitar is like new! I ordered another set for my beater guitar too.
