  • suction cups suck
Size: Medium Color: Dark Brown
I removed them and installed velcro for a tight fit along the edges. They wouldn't keep the leather on my guitar. No biggie. I have a carbon fiber guitar with matte finish. I am happy with after its been modified. I feel like the owners should offer velcro with their item so you can run either or. Leather feels great. My arm isn't getting irritated anymore ... show more

  • Saddle that bout!
Size: Large Color: Dark Brown/Mahogany
I’m sitting there thinking there has to be someone that makes something for the dents in my arm and cutting off circulation. Quick search and bam it’s on the way. At first I thought go blonde so it’s discreet. Then I thought no get the one that compliments the bridge and board. Glad I did. It’s like the first time you put your hand on a stick shift that is wrapped in leather. The comfort is amazing. I tested for strumming action, too. I recommend for guitar players there's no sliding.around, I can't wait to see as it breaks in over time. It's been a long time since I played this beast on stage but times coming soon. I start dreaming of other ways to adorn guitars with leather and hope to see more from this Pennsylvania company. This is the most important piece of musical gear I’ve bought in a long time because of the arm protection. I've played tours and know what humidity and heat and sweat is like, this will help with that for sure. I'd buy one that had 2.5 times the surface area if it were made. I love the accessorizing bit of it a lot. Maybe I'll contact them for a custom size. It feels so comfortable to play on. Take care! ... show more

  • Have to give it a 5
Size: Medium Color: Dark Brown
How can you not rate this 5 stars? Even without suction cups it does the job intended. I have nitro finish and I take it off after each use. A rag would likely work fine but this looks better. Well sewn and put together. Heed the sizes and get the proper fit. I own 3. Update: I"ve owned at least one for a few years (I have 3 and gave one as a gift) without any issues other than suction cups coming out. You can wind some string/dental floss around the nub. You can put a slit in the suction cups intentionally to keep it from sticking. I don't want mine to stick and just use them to help grip and keep it from sliding off. They should not be left on a nitro finish and they don't stick to my satin finish for very long anyway. If you are considering an arm rest like the John Pearce, this is not exactly what you are looking for. Typical armrests are more for allowing the top to vibrate more and is held in place either by double-sided tape or even screws on other brands. This is for sweaty guitar players like myself who (even with regular wipe-down) leave sweat stains in the finish. If I'd known about these when the guitar was new I'd have bought them before the 1st strum. ... show more

  • This product is amazing! Highly recommended.
Size: Small Color: Mahogany
I am really pleased with this purchase. It is a fantastic idea for many reasons. In my case, I'd bought a Taylor GS Mini guitar to use as my couch guitar. Unfortunately, the edges of the guitar body come together at a sharp right angle, which really hurt my right arm as I played. (When shopping for it, I noticed that quite a few acoustic guitars are made that way now.) I was ready to return the guitar, which I really didn’t want to do. I did some googling to see if there was anything out there to solve this problem for me. I saw things you could stick to the guitar such as wood armrests, but that seemed a bit extreme, since I read they could be difficult to remove if you changed your mind. Then I read about this product and saw the potential and figured why not try it before I returned the guitar? Great news--it totally solved the problem, the guitar is super comfortable to play now and I can enjoy it without pain. I am so happy! It totally relieved the pressure on my forearm from that sharp edge and now I don't have those deep indentations from the edge either. I use it without the suction cups since I'm just sitting and the SAB doesn't move around at all. It's nice to have the with or without suction cup option--very well thought out. And it doesn't feel obtrusive either, just nice and cushioned. You forget it's there, which is nice. I purchased the small size, and it fits around the GS bout perfectly. I like to push mine back a bit from the way it's pictured since the guitar body is very small, and it seems to hug the curve of the lower bout regardless of where it is placed. I plan on buying a few more for my other guitars, since I've noticed recently that my forearm gets a bit sore after playing on all of my guitars. I am so grateful that Saddle-A-Bout exists and that the inventor realized there was a need and then solved the problem. Thank you so much! ... show more

  • Not worth the hassle.
Size: Small Color: Mahogany
The suction cups do not hold, and the armrest keeps falling off. I discarded the thing when unable to slide my bare arm over the armrest, such as when playing a descending scale with flamenco picado. But it might be OK if wearing a shirt. With the flaps loose, the armrest looks tacky! I think those who have low standards will be contented with this product. ... show more

  • This is the best armrest.
Size: Small Color: Spruce
I play an average of 6 gigs a month, plus all the hours of practice/rehearsal, and I've had issues with my right hand going numb. I've been using Brand X armrest at 3 times the cost and I have found that the Saddle-A-Bout is far more comfortable and practical. Brand X is one of those ideas that "looks good on paper", but in practice turns out to be far less than optimal. The arm position over the guitar should not be modified for the sake of mitigating the sharp edge and/or bare-arm sweating issues. You will find that many or most of the armrests are made of plastic and are actually uncomfortable. Some do not allow the guitar to be placed in the case without first removing the armrest or making a painful case modification. The Saddle-A-Bout is a very simple, but effective solution that has a lovely, natural feel. The suction cups are positioned to be completely out of the way and the armrest is easily removed without any effect on the tough guitar finish. However, the guitar can be put easily in the case with the armrest in place. ... show more

  • Nice Concept
Size: Small Color: Dark Brown
While the concept of this is nice and very functional but once you put this on, it raises your arm slightly higher and therefore causes some tension on your arm. I stop using it after several trial because of the tension on my right arm.
