Worked to Stop a Dog Fight
Color: Pink Camo
I've carried this on my dog walking bag with a easy release clip for over a year now and had the unfortunate experience of needing to use it for the first time this week. For context, I have a dog selective dog, who doesn't appreciate being rushed by strange dogs. I got it as a procaution, since a friend of mine had their dog attacked by an off leash dog whose owner couldn't care less. In our situation we tried de-escalating the situation and advocating for our space by asking the owner to "please leash your dog" first, and then when the dog still approached with stiff slow body language (I volunteer with dogs, I know this is what often predates a bite) I tried yelling at the dog and swinging the other end of my leash to create space. When that didn't work I felt I had to escalate to using this spray. It was a good solid easy to aim stream, that worked from a distance, I think the dog got to be about 6ft away from us before I decided to use it. I was able to aim right at its face no problem . I was expecting a huge reaction from the dog and it to immediately run away, but instead it made a grimace, marked a near by tree and then finally left us alone. It did make the dog leave quickly after spraying though. Where as my other tatics to create space didn't faze the dog (I've been approached by off leash dogs, and the leash swing and yelling has worked on all of them but this one) After this situation I considered carrying full strength pepper spray, but I ended up deciding to order this product again to make sure I always have a full can. It did what it was supposed to, and I think because I knew it was a dog specific formula, I felt confident in using it when other tatics to de-escalate didn't work. I wouldn't want to wait to use something until a strange off leash dog with aggressive body language gets too close and have a potential dog fight break out. Better to be prepared then have a blood bath. I absolutely think this product saved myself and my dog from a potential bite. Will recommend to all of my dog friends, and will never walk without it readily accessible. You can't control bad dog owners, but you can be confident you are prepared. I like the slim design, but did buy a separate quick release clip to keep it more readily available. The lock feature has always stayed put when not in use, but was easy to disengage when the time arrised. ... show more

You never know
Color: Pink Camo
We have several dogs in my neighborhood that the neighbors do not keep on leashes. We were aggressively charged at by one of them at the end of our street as the owners keep letting the dog slip his lead and do not have it better secured with a harness. This makes me feel a little safer if it ever happens again. It is a small keychain version of pepper spray. Will not permanently hurt the dogs, eyes or vision. But will sting and the owner will have to rinse eyes, if the dog charges us again. However, a snuggling dog that is off leash and not under control of the owner. I think that this is the humane better option. ... show more

Wish It Were Stronger
Color: Green
Works sorta. I've had this around a year and used it today for the first time when My 15 pound terrier mix was attacked by two German Shepherd puppies First I tried an air horn which got their attention, but wouldn't get them to leave. And after a few blasts, the air horn froze up and was silenced. I had this dog repellent spray in my pocket, so I deployed it. The safety mechanism took a bit to learn because you have to position your finger on top of the red tab and press straight down. Not wanting to harm the pups, I sprayed their bodies, but this didn't get any result. I then sprayed across each muzzle. They backed off. But they continued to follow us on our half hour walk. I had to spray a couple more times. While I certainly don't want to harm a dog, a more powerful spray would have been welcomed today ... show more

I don't know if it works, but if I ever have to use it I hope it does. Needless to say, I feel safer on my small walks around the neighborhood.

Terrific Customer Service!
Color: Green
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I ordered this product nearly 1.5 years ago. Fortunately, I haven't had the need to use it. Came close once, and was glad I had it with me. The plastic key ring connector recently broke. I reached out to the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement without fuss. Awesome customer service!!! ... show more

Pit Bull Attack: Here is what you need to know before you purchase this product!!!
Color: Green
I was walking in my neighborhood when I heard people yelling. When I turn around, I saw a couple with 2 white pits that were unleashed and I had a strange feeling so I grabbed my protector hanging from my neck. Suddenly, a big white pit came running over the hill, full force. As my life flashed before me and I wondered if this spray would really save me, I immediately began to spray when he was in range. With my feet planted on the ground and eyes concentrating solely on this dog I had absolutely no fear as I watched his every move in trying to bark and attack me. I emptied my entire tube of spray on this pit and he was still trying to attack me with strong energy so I continued to strike back with my umbrella. After about 5 minutes of this and the owner calling his name but never coming to get the dog or ask if I was ok, he finally swayed and ran away. After he got back to his owner, he picked him up and I left. I give this product 3 stars because it did eventually make the dog run away after a while. He did not bite me, but it took longer that I expected to deter the dog. If I didn't have my umbrella, I would have been fried chicken. If you use this product you will definitely need a defense weapon to carry with it. Otherwise, it will be too late by the time this spray actually kicks in to deter the dog. I have researched and purchased a much stronger defense. To all who have purchased this product and haven't had the chance to use it, consider this your warning. Good Luck!!! ... show more
