  • Does good
Doesn’t save me money but definitely more power and not burning as much oil

  • BIG DIFFERENCE!
Right away I noticed the change. I never realized how F'd up AFM actually was, or how much Power it held back. I was leery at first, mostly from other people's reviews, so I would unplug it every time I shut off my truck (08 Silverado Z71 LTZ CC). I realized it's not necessary, and I think it's actually better leaving it plugged in. Shortly after installing this item, I added a cold air intake. Talk about an Awesome combination!!! They go together better than chocolate and peanut butter. I would Never go back to driving my truck with the AFM engaged, and DEFINITELY recommend this item to every truck owner. It's worth it!!! ... show more

  • Works as advertised
2014 GMC Sierra 5.3L. Bought this truck used with 20k miles in Nov 2017. I was not happy with the AFM after driving it for several weeks. I had observed huge clouds of smoke on occasion when the AFM kicked in or out. Big blue clouds of burning oil. Dealer stated they couldn't find anything wrong. Also, the truck seemed to shift very unevenly and the AFM kicked in and out frequently. So I took a chance on this AFM delete module. 90 days in and I am quite pleased. No more burning oil. Shifting is much smoother and the truck much more responsive (hesitation on take off is gone) and this has had little to no impact on my mileage except for long distance expressway trips. With AFM I have hit 23.6 MPG. Without is 20.3. However, if this is a concern, just unplug it before you start your vehicle if planning a long trip. I would recommend this to anyone curious to what the AFM delete can do for them. Now that my warranty is over, I may do the physical AFM delete as I intend to keep this truck for a long time. As you can imagine, that is a substantial amount of work and not cheap making this trial perfect. ... show more

  • Does almost everything it says
Came in a box, alone, no instructions (you don't need a nuclear engineering degree to plug it in, but would've been nice to have a piece of paper saying what it does). But this is not the problem. It's a product from range tech, rebranded (or build for these guys) and more expensive. Only got this one because it said it also disabled auto on/off. And while the manufacturer's site says it only does it for newer trucks, here it doesn't state it, so for my 2013 sierra hybrid it doesn't do it. It does make the idle almost unnoticeable, less shakey, it keeps the v4 mode from pestering you and while my truck is also a hybrid, made the auto on/off to ICE start almost unnoticeable, very smooth, not a bumpy one, unlike it was before when the transition from auto on/off to ICE gave me a good shake when trying to leave a traffic light faster than usual. ... show more

  • It works exactly as advertised.
I have a 2015 silverado with the 5.3 with AFM. My truck was shifting non-stop and my gas mileage was horrible. I was getting 13.5 in town 18.5 - 19 hey. It's easy to install. Just take it our of the box and plug it into the OBDI port under the dash. It can only go in one way. Start the engine and in a few seconds after the light on Diablo sprint quits flashing, your ready to go. No more V8 to V4 mode anymore. My gas mileage has increased to between 18/ 19 In town. Highway 22 might. It's worth the money! ... show more
