  • Fantastic performance
Style: Control Box
I installed this on an older 95 LT1 v8 it really helped give it a boost in spark and car runs well. Note this was not a stock engine. It has a large cam, ported heads and Headers. Another note. I also have the MSD coil but still use the stock opti spark distributer. one thing that makes a big difference is using the correct oil seal on the distributer once I finally installed the proper oil seal that looks like a standard oil seal all the problems with the opti spark went away after cleaning the oil out of the inside. Don't need to waste money on a 595.00 MSD distributer. Iv'e only heard bad reviews about them. this opti spark distributer was only 45.99 ... show more

  • Quality Duraspark ignition upgrade for my 1988 Jeep YJ Wrangler 4.2L
Style: Control Box
Quality Duraspark ignition upgrade for my 1988 Jeep YJ Wrangler 4.2L. Lots of YJ owners go with an HEI distributor but I preferred to keep my original Duraspark distributor and use the Digital 6AL MSD Ignition because it is much better quality with more features and benefits. Some of those include, multiple spark, built in adjustable rev limiter, powerful spark at higher RPMs, lower voltage needed for cranking and extras like the capability of later adding the Adjustable Timing module if you find the need to retard/advance on the fly. If you’re really serious about your Jeep and want a top notch ignition, look no further the MSD 6425 is the perfect box for your ride. ... show more

  • ... bought this unit to replace a 6420 which went bad on me
Style: Control Box
I bought this unit to replace a 6420 which went bad on me. This model is digital, and replaced the defective unit perfectly. My 64 Corvette is now back on the road. I have a MSD distributor with a mechanical tach drive so setting the rev-limiter is still a mystery to me. The installation directions indicate how to set the rev-limiter with an MSD or electronic tach. I would give them five stars but product support could not help with my old one. They wanted me to send it in for a diagnosis. I know from past experience that service takes a couple months to get an item back. I didn't want to give up the rest of summer so I bought another unit. ... show more

  • Works Better then Orginal
Style: Control Box
Finally installed. Had to replace my older 6al box (fried beyond repair according to MSD when I sent in to be refurbished). Same wire combo. Does seem to be running much smoother then my previous box. Have not drove car yet. Still adding some final touches to it before it is road worthy again. I know MSD says no fuses are needed. But since this is my 3rd box in 15 years (due to being fried) I added a inline fuse for added security. ... show more

  • Worked perfectly
Style: Control Box
My vintage 1973 Mach 1 Mustang already had a MSD ignition system that worked perfectly. But, it had the 6425 6 ignition control module, and I wanted to be able to limit the engine RPM. The 6AL unit plugged right into the same connector that previously fed the convention "6" module with no rev limiter feature. I "tested" the 6AL and found it worked perfectly to keep the engine RPM within the limits I set the modules to. ... show more
