Description

When the original failure-prone wireless ignition module, or wireless ignition node (WIN), on certain Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles isn't functioning properly, the symptoms are more than just inconvenient - they render the vehicle unusable. That's because the WIN is an integrated electronic receiver that communicates through the powertrain control module (PCM) with multiple onboard convenience and safety systems, including the keyless entry remote and starter. When the WIN fails, the vehicle cannot be started with the keyless remote and the park/shift interlock cannot be disabled. This direct replacement wireless ignition module is designed to match the fit and function of the original module, and will restore the critical communication between the key fob, module and PCM to ensure the operation of those systems and other factory-installed features to original equipment standards. I put this in my 2011 Ram 1500. Super easy to install. Had a locksmith come out and code two fob keys to it and he was successful. He was super surprised it worked because they typically need pre programmed modules. He said I saved probably $400-$500 going this route instead of ordering pre programmed from a dealership or locksmith. It’s only been about 6 months so I’m hoping it holds up over time. My stick module slowly started getting sloppy with the fob then the fob would get stuck then it just wouldn’t turn over anymore. I found my two new fobs here on Amazon too and they’re super sturdy. Got a 2011 Ram 2500. Just call ur local locksmith with the best price, 75$ and (s)he will program it and no more stalled problems! Price is the lowest u will find!

    • Perfect fit and function on my 2012 ram 1500
So I went out on a limb and bought this hoping it would fix my hard to start issues and weird voltage issues during startup. It totally did so far, found a YouTube video describing how to clean the stock switch because dust and stuff has gotten in there and that didn't fix my stock one. so I had this installed and had the dealer program it(required )to finish the install. I did carefully take this apart to inspect the internals and they appear to be slightly upgraded from the stock internals so hopefully they won't have to ignition switch failure down the road as quickly. I will definitely recommend this going forward, especially cuz a dealer switche is around $600 plus the required dealer programming fee. ... show more

It is EXPENSIVE and more so because there is an unstated ADDED COST in money and time as you MUST go to dealer or locksmith to use. It is NOT EASY TO INSTALL as a dealer professional or Locksmith MUST be involved to have product work. It is NOT EASY TO READ/UNDERSTAND as there is NO DOCUMENTATION and the information from the AMAZON description and product information leaves out all the important information necessary to use or make an informed decision about this purchase. Easy to install. Easy to use A little on the pricy side but gotta have what the vehicle needs. Works as it should. Make sure to use a local locksmith to program it with your keys!
