Bought this to replace the previous version when the motor, or gearbox, seized up. Runs longer than the previous design and has several other improvements that make it feel more heavy duty. It is also noticeably heavier but in a good way. The trigger could be a little better because is seems to always want to run full speed. Easy to use, does what its designed to do and in short order on wood, metal nails. Saw this tool at another place $100 what I paid here on amazon, couldn't pass it up, my Chicago Tool Sawzall died (even replaced brushes). Ryobi ONE+ products work great for home projects, less expensive than the other name brands and grab the bargains when you can. ... show more

While this saw is overpriced at FULL price, Amazon in the 60 range was fairly priced and it is a decent tool and runs about as well as any other. I love the fact that I dont have to use different batteries than the ones for my other Ryobi tools. The other companies need to catch on to this.

    • It is powerful for a battery demo saw.
Don't get this if you need a plug in demo saw like a Saw All, it doesn't even come close. Where it shines is when it is difficult to have AC power where you need to use the saw. That is exactly why I doughty it and I have a Saws All and a want to be plug in SA. I did use it to cut up fallen branches to fit in the lawn tractor wagon and to cut dead branches that the last Texas frost got. I bought the best wood cutting blades and that helped alot. ... show more

Within the first 5 minutes of using this to trim a hedge, the black shoe fell off. There is no place in the manual that tells you how to replace it. So fine, I used it without the black shoe. But within 10 minutes of that, my fully charged battery died. So I changed it to another battery thinking that my battery just wasn’t fully charged. And within another 10 minutes of that, the second battery died. I have a third battery, a 4AH, and that lasted until I was done. Overall, pain in the butt to have it break and have to keep changing the batteries. I can’t return this because I’ve already recycled the box, but I totally would if I could. ... show more

I used this to cut steel reo steel temporary fences wood plywood... very useful tool to have on jobsite. But breaks down very easily.steel a bit weak .yes will recommend this.leave expensive sabre saw at home...use cheap one when doing demolition.
