I was looking for Lava soap to put in our kitchen to use to get the dirt and sap from our pine trees off our hands, but I didn’t want a soap dish on the counter and the cost for the liquid version of Lava soap was ridiculously high. I saw the Boraxo powdered hand soap at a reasonable cost and purchased it. It works great. I did buy a glass container with a shaker lid at Cost Plus the other day to put the soap in as I’m afraid that the metal bottom of the can may get wet and put a rust stain on the countertop, and, the container is heavy cardboard and wet hands are likely to degrade it and may wet the soap inside and make it clumpy. You could just order something like that or an old fashioned sugar shaker, on Amazon when you order this. Highly recommend if you need something to get embedded dirt or grease off your hands at a reasonable cost.

If you worry about whether your socks are made out of organic cotton, or you buy deodorant from a commune in the California hills where each batch is hand crafted by long-haired virgins- THIS PRODUCT IS NOT FOR YOU! This stuff will probably take paint off a battleship. It is made of un-pronounceable chemicals. You wet your hands, shake a bit into your palm, then try not to let the guy next to you see you tear up a bit as you basically sand your hands. That said, it works better than ANY product I have ever used in my 16 year career. I am a Machinist. I get what we call "perma-grime" on my hands. Grease, dirt, and general nastiness gets embedded in every little crack or valley on my hands. I have used (and continue to use) heavy duty pumice-soaps, which work 95% of the time. This is for the other 5%. This will remove anything (including a layer and a half of skin). It is not gentle, it will quite literally scour your hands. I would imagine it feels similar to scrubbing up with steel wool. If you work hard and get dirty, this is your soap. Save it for the worst of the worst. Also, it helps to keep a bottle of all-natural organic honey-based flaxseed hand lotion next to the sink to put on after you use this stuff.

50 years ago when I complimented a business colleague on her smooth skin and gorgeous complexion, she told me she exfoliated her skin once a week with Boraxo! I began using it as an exfolilant as well as for general use. It is pure, free of contaminants, and other strange ingredients that irritate my sensitive skin. I simply wet a little in my palm while showering, then very gently scrub my face and rinse. Soft, smooth skin. I also use it on my arms, legs, and feet. It works wonders. I love it. I'm adding years, but my complexion is still pretty smooth and free of wrinkles

I have used plenty of grit style soaps, but boraxo always has them all beat. Cuts through the worst dirt and grease without totally destroying your hands. I have yet to find a mess on my hands that boraxo couldn't clean up. All I need now is to get them to buy it at work!

I recently tried Boraxo for the first time, and this stuff is amazing. Before leaving work I used GoJo to clean my hands but I still had grease and motor oil stains on my hands. Then when I got home I took a shower with soap, and I still had stains on my hands. Then I used Boraxo at the lavatory and right away I noticed dirty soap dripping into the lavatory, and when I was finished the grease stains were gone. I took a canister of Boraxo to work and have been using it there, and my co-workers have used it and commented about how well it works. It works better than any of the mechanics hand cleaners we have at work.
