BUY THEM! Look, I've purchased several brands of "blackout" curtains. I can tell you right now, for the price, these are phenomenal. 1. They are true light blocking. There is no light coming through the curtain. (pictured) In the photo, you can see that when the curtains are closed there is light around the curtain but not through it. I didn't place my curtains flat to the wall; I bought a bar that offered that option, but I left the blind covers above the window, and didn't want to deal with removing them. 2. The length/weight is perfect. They are not superrr heavy, but they have a good weight to them. This keeps them from moving around with the fan on. We have a standing fan, so I like that. Additionally, the length makes it so that they cover about a foot below the window, so I'm not worried about them catching the window ledge. 3. They block heat! Oh man, anyone living here in Texas knows that this heat is intense right now. They actively keep the bedroom from being so hot. Those windows (even tinted) let in lots of light and heat. It makes the bedroom hard to keep cool. The curtains block all that heat as well as the light, so it's a nice area to sleep during the day. For those that are overnighters, this is a good option to allow your body to rest since the light and heat are reduced significantly. 4. Cost efficient. These curtains are cheap considering their quality. The feel of the curtain smooth. The grommets make them easy to hang and lay beautifully. The color is a gentle sage green. I love green, but I didn't want a childish green. Love the tranquility of the color. Just do it. I bought two sets for both windows, and this is the first time I don't deeply regret spending the money. I wasn't paid for this review, and I don't normally leave long reviews. If you are looking for an insulated 100% black out curtain these are it. The curtains are heavy and have the black backing. We live in an older mobile home with no central air so we have portable AC units in each room. These curtains dropped the living room down 6 degrees with in the first hour I had them hung. I ended up ordering more for each room. They are 100% black out and keep all the heat from entering the windows. My AC units no longer have to run continuously as it’s staying 68-72 degrees even on the 100 degree + days so I am saving tons on my electric bill. I also love how they muffle the sound from outside and inside the house. My dog was barking and you could hardly hear on the outside where it was coming from. During the day the house feels a little bit like a dungeon because it’s so dark but I will take comfort over anything. These curtains are definitely worth every penny!! ... show more

I use to buy the ‘eclipse’ brand of blackout shades and I always just thought the amount of light they let through was normal for being blackout. Boy was I WRONG! These are truly 100% blackout, the only light I have coming through is where it hits the wall on the sides and above where the rod doesn’t meet the wall. I don’t typically leave reviews, but for these I had to! The curtains I have had in my room for years were labeled as blackout curtains but they never actually blacked anything out. I always assumed that’s what blackout curtains did. Not these. As soon as I took them out of the box, I could feel the quality difference. These are soft and durable to the touch. When I hung them up, I had no lights on in my room and it instantly was nighttime outside. I am truly impressed by how much these black out light and how high quality they look and feel. I bought the black drapes and the backside is also black. Nice thick quality fabric that blocks light without a cheap backer. They have a luxurious feel and the grommets are high quality. The two sets of panels I sewed together for a wide window were exactly the same length.
