Excellent in the forge
Color: Tan Pattern Name: Bricks
Been using them in the bottom of my forge as well as using as doors to help trap heat. They have held up really well. Only have had one split in the year or so that I have been using them.

Great replacement fire bricks for wood stoves..
Color: Tan Pattern Name: Bricks
I needed replacement fire bricks for my wood stove, made in the USA..they came just boxed in the factory box, not in another box with any insulation to help with any damage that may occur during shipping and to my amazement all the bricks were in perfect condition..I used an angle grinder with a 4 inch diamond blade to cut the ones that needed to be fitted into place..I will buy this brand again when needed..they cut well and feel of quality... ... show more

Good bricks, bad delivery.
Color: Ivory 2000f Pattern Name: Bricks
The ivory Bricks work and offer the exact look I wanted! However, one box was completely broken. All of the boxes they came in were damaged in some fashion and falling apart, but the one box with all of the destroyed bricks looked like someone ran it over. 40$ bricks need to be packaged better.

Best stone for thermal mass
Color: Soapstone Gray Pattern Name: Bricks
I purchased these soap stone bricks for thermal mass in a tiny fireplace I purchased as backup heat on the porch. I am not burning logs directly in fireplace, but using a small fire pit to contain hardwood mini logs, so the configuration may change depending on the hot areas. I am also adding a cast iron grate with ceramic fire tamers in the sloped part of the chimney to go over the fire pit to break up the flames for heat distribution. Soap stone is the best type of stone for thermal mass in masonry fireplaces due to it's superior heat retention and release. It is extremely heavy, and pricey, but worth every penny. Pricing is about the same direct from Rutland shipping aside. The bricks arrived in the Rutland heavy duty cardboard box, inside a amazon box. All bricks arrived in tact and my order arrived quickly. Would buy again. ... show more

Not a crack in six firebrick, after shipping! Can’t go wrong with Rutland!
Color: Tan Pattern Name: Bricks
The exact firebrick I wanted! Shipped inside 2 boxes, original box, packed inside another box for shipping, 6 firebrick, not even a crack! All brick, are in tact! Amazon driver was very careful, and polite!

The Last Ones I’ll Ever Buy!
Color: Tan Pattern Name: Bricks
After 25 years, a couple of the fire bricks in my Jōtul F500 wood stove developed some cracks. Not a big deal, and they probably could’ve lasted at least a few more years, but I just decided to replace all four bricks, more for the sake of appearance than anything else. The bricks arrived in great condition, and it took about a whole 10 minutes to get them all changed out. I’m confident that they will last a lot longer than me, and I even have a couple of spares, just in case. I trust the Rutland brand. ... show more

Great product -- solved the problem
Color: Tan Pattern Name: Bricks
Wow, what a difference replacing some of the firebricks in our probably 20+ year old Napolean wood stove these made. perfect fit. I thought there was only one broken. I found a second broken and two more cracked and ready to drop. So don't fret about having to buy a pkg of six. You will use them! NOTE: Your stove will heat more quickly, get hotter, and hold the heat longer ... but if you, like I, had more holes in the firebrick than you knew (on the roof of the chamber), when you replace them with the new bricks, the firebox will not draft as well at first. It makes sense if you think about it. So get a good fire going on top and start the draft, let it vent well for the first 5-10 minutes, or you will be smoking up your house a bit. It's not a problem, if you are aware. UPDATE: Two years later, just used the 6th and final brick. None of the ones I installed two years ago have broken. Ordering another box now. I believe this Napolean stover (fireplace insert with glass door) is 20-30 years old, so not surprised the old ones are giving out. ... show more
