Every other year or so, I have to paint the gas meter and piping around the exterior of my house. This means crawling around behind the shrubs and sometimes painting while lying on my back to get to the “tight” places. I’ m in my eighties, so this doesn’t represent a fun afternoon for me. Thank goodness I had the sense to buy this paint. It went on beautifully and one coat did it all. It even matches the gas company’s shade perfectly. I received a second can, slightly dented, and it was cheaper, also. I bought a third one, a different white, the heirloom one. I applied some paint on a metal door, closet doors, and a folding table, a wooden one. Hopefully, I can paint the little shelves in the closet with those 3 cans. Thinking about mixing some, to achieve a warmer white, not too white and not too yellow. So far, the folding table… that one is going to be in the white satin blossom paint. I think that it was a great choice, the little table is looking good, the small area that I painted, because the white is warmer than the pure white one from Behr, the eggshell interior enamel, that I a smeared, close to my satin blossom area. Someone mentioned some shelves that were revamped with this product, with great results. Thanks again Amazon, for the great product and fair price!     • Metallic Gold paint is oil based!

I didn’t realize when I ordered that it was an oil based paint. It wasn’t an issue for my project, but for some I’m sure it could cause problems. Just keep that in mind, I’m assuming it’s the same for the silver and bronze ones as well. Pros: Good price for the amount. Easy to use even for an oil based paint, if you stir it enough it almost becomes acrylic consistency. Does have a nice sheen in the light and actually looks like gold. Cons: Very runny, will need multiple coats to get it to look gold. It was almost sheer with the first coat and it scared me. Takes a while to dry even without the multiple coats. I was only doing detailing but if you have a large area you’ll probably need multiple cans. ... show more

I’m getting ready to sell my 20 year old house where I raised three kids and we always had dogs. If it’s a painted surface, it needs to be refreshed. Over the past several months, I’ve used this paint on everything from exterior metal doors to baseboards and chair rails, and with different brushes from super cheap to premium. It looks great everywhere. In my opinion, the finish looks more satin than semi-gloss on most surfaces, but it’s holding up well in the high-traffic areas I painted six months ago, so I’m happy. Love the convenience of just ordering more when I run low. It’s a large house and I’m working on it room by room, so I prefer the smaller container over going out and buying a gallon that might dry out before I get done. ... show more

When you pop open the can, the purple color may throw you. When you stick your brush in, it seems sticky and gooey. In fact, painting over white, this paint still looked purple after a couple of coats. And it took about four coats to get good coverage over a light color, so don't be tempted to thin it. A little goes a long way, and it dries fairly quickly, so it wasn't too big a deal to do more coats than I consider normal (and a layer of primer would've helped). It dries to a rich, warm, dark brown, just as I hoped. It is very glossy, making the brush strokes pretty obvious, so be neat about applying your last couple of layers.
