The paint itself is fine and I didn’t have any problems with the can (dribbling, spotting, etc). The only thing I would say, and it’s not really a criticism, is that the color is definitely dark gray. The photos in the listing show a lamp base and a mailbox to demonstrate the color, but in my opinion, they both look brownish gray, almost sable. However, the color from the can is gunmetal gray, just like the can says, no brown whatsoever. So I guess it’s really the photos that I think are a bit misleading. That could be an issue with my computer monitor’s color settings, but I did buy another color from Rustoleum, and that color was identical to the photos in the listing. Anyway, one can almost covered one side of an old battered and rusty screen door (without the screen), so it took three cans to get the whole screen door done. Looks fine, and it really covered up the rust and scratches. After rescreening and replacing the handle, it will look very good, not new, but so much better than before. (A brand new screen door from Ace would have been more than twice as expensive once you add up the cost of three cans of spray paint, a rescreening kit, and a new door handle, so that’s cool, plus it’s a fun project and I’m enjoying doing the work myself!) ... show more

I bought this to use on plain clear vases and it turned out perfect! As the headline states, it you want a true opaque, matte black, multiple layers are needed. The vase on the right in the picture is with two coats. Easy to use spray, but take care not to spray too much for each coat or else the paint will run/drip. Very heavy smell so be sure to use outdoors or in an open, well ventilated space. ... show more

I sprayed 2 brushed nickel lamps rather than replacing. The spray worked well, even though it was a bit cool in the garage where I used it. Great to have trigger to paint with but ran paint down the fingers when spraying. Was leaking out of front. Need to use gloves. After using about half a can the leaking stopped. The rest worked great.

I have sprayed quite a few network rackmount pieces in the Metallic Matte Arctic Gray and they match very closely to Ubiquiti's UniFi line of networking equipment. Not perfect but close enough. The paint could be a bit more durable but once in the rack, it should be fine long term.
