The range is great, and I love the fact they put a cooling fan in it. I’d say its a must at the highest level. Another plus is, It starts decreasing the power if it gets too hot, so it doesn’t cook itself. I use it mainly fixed wing inav builds using smart audio.

Coming from 1.6w VTX, I experience no difference between 'Rush Tank VTX 2.5w MAX Solo VTX ' and the 1.6w VTX. Am I missing something here? All the reviews speak well of this VTX mentioning an increase in range. However, when I utilized Rush Tank Max Solo VTX, I was getting the same visuals, static, interference in the area I fly within, not a long range flying: Nothing new, nor any decrease in static. Does this VTX need to be unlocked? I do see the purple-led, supposedly the max wattage of 2.5w. I used the same frequency table that is advertised. Is there a secret or 'members only' trick I need to know to have this VTX feel different, besides being sturdier and heavier on the drone? ... show more

This VTX is a work of art. The only complaint I have is that usually Rush includes everything.. yet on this model there is no was to mount the VTX. No mounting holes or hardware is provided so short of double sided tape you have to print the Max Solo mount on thingyverse and use it in a 30x30mm bolt pattern ... show more
