Description

The Rupes Big Foot Random Orbital Polisher utilizes a unique 21 millimeter throw which covers more surface area than a conventional orbital polisher. The larger throw allows the Rupes to remove swirls, scratches, holograms, and other paint defects faster and easier than any other machine. A typical orbital polisher has a throw between 4 and 8 millimeters. The Big Foot's 21 millimeter throw gives this revolutionary polisher the ability to run smoother and correct defects faster than a conventional dual action polisher. The Rupes comes equipped with a 6 inch hook and loop backing plate designed to use 6 inch pads. Chemical Guys 6 Inch Hex-Logic and Microfiber Polishing Pads are a great choice to use with the Rupes Big Foot Polisher. The Rupes Big Foot Random Orbital Polisher creates a flawless finish with an industry leading 21 millimeter throw. The advantage of using a Rupes is the ability to create a finish that is free of swirls or holograms. A typical rotary polisher can remove paint defects very quickly, but can also create swirls and holograms into the paintwork due to the machine's power. The Rupes Big Foot Random Orbital Polisher leaves a flawless finish when polishing on single stage and clear coat surfaces. The Rupes is perfect for the novice and professional detailer looking for a high performance, easy to use polishing machine.

  • Excellent product for Detailing whether a novice or professional!
I use the LHR21ES and the LHR15 mini on all of my personal vehicles. I find them to be the best made random orbitals and the most user friendly.

  • Worth every penny
He'd been debating on this machine ever since he got his new work van, bout 2 yrs ago. Prime Day finally made him take the plunge as we got a huge discount on machine & accessories. Neither of us had any experience using a detail machine. He's a carpenter & to him it's like sanding so was an easy learning curve after watching vids. Thought this was going to save money in the long run vs paying detailers. What it does is a supremely better job than the best detail ever done. I watched alot of videos, read reviews on multiple sites before ordering and, the masses were correct. You're best with a combination of Rupes & Meguires products for color correction. Rupes Keramik is a must with the machine. Makes finish look like glass on old or new vehicle. Even better than showroom. It was the only step necessary after wash on the 2 yo silver van. It works best with color coordinated Rupes yellow foam pad. Yes, it costs more but gets into curves. You'll find Rupes color matches finish to pad. So yellow Keramik = yellow pad to make it easy. Meguires micro fiber 6" cutting pads were great with Meguires pink correction medium compound. That was first step, after wash, on 12 yo truck that had no finish left. Literally, the paint looked like dust. That's the step you see in the pic labeled "During", the Meguires. Then did Rupes Keramik. Looked like glass, actually a mirror. That's the pic labeled "After". Thought we were done. Nope. Had to run to store you get wax to protect Keramik, which you don't know before, bc Rupes instructions are in Italian wth no English & we did this on a Sunday. Did call Rupes re machine, prior to purchase & they were helpful. Why decision to go with LHR21ES Big Foot. Has no kickback, is smooth & can take a 6" or 5" plate. Really the best choice for a first time detailer. As far as Rupes help with detail products, not so much. Referred me to their website which, for a rookie, is like trying to understand a 2nd language so, went back to Amazon. Picked up Chemical Guys Butter wax to finish the job. Majority vids we both watched were Chemical Guys & you can grab it at Advanced Auto. This is seriously the easiest wax I've ever buffed in my life. Our arms were done after a full day of full restore on a full size truck. Finished with the Butter Wax, on & off in 30 min. This is an investment in time & money but as they say, If you want it done right... Gotta do it yourself. The proof is in the pix. ... show more

  • Game changer
This here is a game changer. This machine is so smooth that I forget I am polishing a car. No more fatigue, itching hands and arms from all the vibration that you get from other machines. You don't have to use pressure for this polisher to get the job done. Another thing. I was not interested in Rupes microfiber pads until Kevin Brown (Buffdaddy.com) gave me a free one to try. Once I've seen it's cutting capability, I have decided to get a few to use when I wet sand and buff my freshly painted car. If the funds are available, I suggest you seriously consider this polisher. I suggest you purchase the 5" backing plate that way you have 2 polishers in one. Also, consider doing the washer modification on this unit. For more information, you can contact Kevin Brown at [...] The mod makes a difference in the unit's performance. Other items to consider: Rupes LHR 15ES 5 Inch Backing Plate Update: 11.17.18 The machine would not start today. All I heard was a hum when pressing the button. I had not used the machine in a year and had planned to prep my vehicle for the upcoming winter months. Did some research and found many others with a similar problem. I am a DIYer, so the machine does not see heavy use, so I was disappointed. I had to break out the older Porter Cable (PC) machine, which keeps going and going and going. I finished the job, but the PCs vibrate the mess out of your hands. I've contacted Rupes and will see if they can repair it. That's a whole lot of money for a machine that doesn't last over 3 years. It did the job while it lasted, but... My PCs and Makita (20 yrs old) are still alive and kicking. After this experience, I am now looking into the Flex machine. I won't spend another $400 or so on a machine that doesn't last past 3 years. ... show more
