I just got this in. I was a little disappointed in how it was packaged. Most reels come in a box with some kind of foam or cardboard insert to protect the reel, not just placed in the box. So I was a bit skeptical at first. Always been a big fan of Abu Garcia and Shimano. I needed to replace a reel that finally retired to fisherman heaven, and wanted a decent midrange reel for a 7" MH/M action rod. As I said, I wasn't real impressed with the packing, but after giving it a very thorough inspection, I have to say, this is a decent quality reel. It's good looking, has great style, and smooth operation. I always grease and oil new reels, just to be on the safe side, or as some would say, "it's better to err on the side of caution" than to take it out fort a test drive and have something go wrong. The reel seat is just a tad longer than most, so fingering the line during casting will be just a bit different, but it balances very well on the rod. I filled it with 30lb braid and a 15lb leader. It holds a lot of line. I'll update my review once I have the chance to get it out for a good days fishing. ... show more

To be fair I just received this product. Out of the box it looks good and seems to be a well made reel. Here's the catch and why I'm writing this review even though I have NOT tested the product yet. In the box is a card that tells you to register your reel for the warranty and receive a free gift. So I go to the website as instructed and there is nothing there to register any product. So I search "warranty" and get a list of products and no information on how to file a warranty claim. So I go to a chat button and see there is a warranty tab, this must be it, but still no help. I'm just trying to register the product as instructed but there is nothing there. I'm just putting it out there if there was a problem with this product it seems there would be no recourse to get it resolved. Granted, the price point is where most people would just opt to buy another reel if something went wrong but my problem is the fact that they say there is a warranty and there is no way to get access to any kind of warranty information, not to mention registering the product in the first place. Just know what you are getting in to before you buy. I haven't used it yet and I already feel like I have been duped. I will post more information when I catch a fish and see what it can do. To Runcl Inc. please look in to your website and get this fixed. It only seems like you are interested in selling products on your website and not saying what you can do for your consumers. ... show more

I bought it in July 2019 and have used it many times since then. I've caught a couple hundred smallmouth, some pike, walleye and a muskie with it so far. Drag is second to none. Comes off evenly even when set heavy. Comes in handy when a big bass or pike gets out in the current and turns sideways to settle in for the fight. I have the 4000 size and I use it with a 7ft Med/Fast rod. I like a bigger spinning reel with more power in the rivers but something you can still cast lighter artificials with and make accurate casts. A casting reel doesn't fit that job description. I've felt no hitches or rough spots from the bail on retrieves. Very smooth and consistant. The one problem, at least with the 4000 size, is that it hangs so far down from the grip its difficult to secure the line with your index finger for the cast. I've never seen this before on any reel no matter what size. I don't know if the smaller models have this issue. Update 7/31/21: I just bought the 3000 model as well. Honestly nothing in this price class even comes close. It's tough and the bail doesn't get wrecked when reeling violently wobbling crankbaits against current. The other one I have has lasted two summers, thousands of casts and hundreds of fish. I just burned up a $90 Lew's KVD in one day on 31 smallmouths. The bail was wrecked. These Titan reels for $60 can handle a couple summer's worth of days like that. I'll buy a couple more. ... show more

I bought 2 of these because of reviews and price point as extra reels for my fishing trips. It says that they are a 6000 size, but are literally no bigger than some of my 4000 size reels. They don't hold a lot of line. They did work flawlessly though on my last trip, and will serve as a decent backup reel for smaller target fish. ... show more

This reel is light but definitely sturdy. It is actually quite a bit lighter than I expected. I am not one that cares that much about a reel being super light. I am no wussy and a bit of weight to a reel never bothered me as long as the reel was study. This one, to my surprise, is both…not going to argue with that. The casts and retrievals are silky smooth which I assume is due to the number of bearings they loaded into this thing. Not going to complain in the least about that, either. Today I was using a RUNCL frog, which I normally would use with my baitcaster, cast a good long ways even with the evening breeze picking up. The grip on the handle is the same material as the grip on the handle of my rod so it is not likely to slip if it gets wet. Carbon fiber drag discs impressed me as did the total drag of 44lbs. Now, a drag of 44lb is probably overkill for this size of a reel, but it gives some serious versatility to this reel that I could not find in other reels I looked at. While I mainly bought it for bass and pan fish, it would allow me to throw this thing on a heavier duty pole and do some serious catfishing if I wanted to…and I just might. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. I uploaded a couple of pics of some late afternoon fishing I did today. I did not pull any in, though I got some great hits on that frog, but that is the fisherman’s fault, not the equipment. 😉 ... show more

I was very impressed with this reel. Took it for a week long surf fishing adventure on Topsail island in October. The drag is very smooth and has a loud clicker. The hollow rotor design surprisingly didn’t let any sand down into the body(I was very surprised).The reel handle turns very smoothly and there is ZERO flex in the reel seat stem like most graphite body reels like the Kastking reels I own. This reel is absolutely rock solid and I will be buying more 6000 series reels to outfit my other surf rods. My one complaint and it is very minor. I wish for the 5000 and 6000 series reels that Runcl Would include an oversized t-grip style knob to get a better purchase when cranking in large fish from the surf/sound. If you’re listening Runcl... please do this and you will have the market cornered. Moral of the story, best inexpensive surf reel I’ve used by far. Better than Kastking, better than Penn, better than Diawa. Just do it, you will not regret it. ... show more

I have had this reel for a bit over 6 weeks. I have been on the water 5-6 times with it and feel qualified to give my opinion. The reel has aluminium frame, and spool, yet is lightweight. I am impressed a great deal with this reel. The fit and function is right on. The finish is great! The cutaway rotor is unique and I found that the water seals in the reel do exactly as claimed. They keep the internals protected. The handle is plastic, carbon or aluminium I can not tell, other then it is beefy and well up to the task of fighting the PIGGY BASS! I really enjoy the oversized EVA handle grip, it is extremely comfortable and allows for a good positive grip. The drag on this reel may be the best drag system on any reel. It is precise, dependable, and no jerky slip. I played with the drag setting with a Bass on and am extremely impressed. This is an outstanding value on a spinning reel in the $75-$100 class, at $53.00 it may be against the law!! Tell you what, if the TITAN had the name of LEWS, GARCIA, DAIWA, or PENN on the cover plate it would sell for $100 easy. RUNCL truly has a great product here that is affordable for the working man.
