Haven't used it but as far as I can tell it's the best 13$ I've spent all year. Worth at least double that. I bought it for my sons first trout rod and it's plenty smooth enough. Drag seems decent and doesn't squeak at all. Will it last a lifetime. Oh lord no probably not. Will he get 2-3 years of good use. More than likely. So I’m a Daiwa/Shimano fan and wanted to get some cheapies for crappie fishing as I don’t do it much, mainly a bass guy. I was very close to buying those Walmart shimano siennas when I checked Amazon real quick and saw these on sale. I went out on a limb and bought two for the price of one sienna. Upon unboxing I was decently surprised, not a bad reel for the money. I oiled the bearings and added a little more grease on it and so far it’s doing it’s job. Probably one step below the sienna as far as smoothness, but other than that the drag has worked great, no other complaints. I’d say for the price it’s great. Got the 2000-size. Fit and finish is okay, except the plastic (graphite?) stem flexes just a bit. Line lay was reverse-conical out of the box, but reel did not come with shims. I had to take one that came with my Daiwa reel. That fixed the conical shape, but there's a subtle hesitation in the up & down oscillation that caused the line to lay heavier on one side of the spool near the bottom. The spool punch-outs also have very sharp edges that could possibly cut you if you grab the spool to slow it down if a big fish is taking drag. Quality control is lacking as well as quality of materials used in making this reel. Will stick with KastKing for much higher quality, budget reels. ... show more

Arrived on time, and immediately spooled it up with yellow 10lb mono, and mounted it on a M-F KastKing Crixus 7' rod. Taking it out to the Snake River today. I really like RUNCL products. The Svallet baitcaster is awesome too!
