Absolutely love this mat! It's lightweight and folds up easily into the storage pouch. I store it in my car and bring it on hikes whenever I have room in my pack or anticipate wanting to sit. I love the design (I have the plaid) and quality.

I have to be honest, this is NOT my first product from RUMPL. I own several of their NanoLoft blankets and our whole family loves them. Choosing this mat/cover was a no brainer... and we love it !! This cover is great for all kinds of uses: the beach, the tailgate of your truck, at a picnic, camping, etc. This mat is generously sized at 52 x 75”. It has a built in storage pouch, so you can just fold up the mat and tuck it into it's attached pouch. Very handy. I use a tri-fold and stuffing combination to get the mat down to size and into the pouch. A really neat feature is a zippered corner pocket that you can use for storing smaller items, such as your keys. Things you really don't want to get lost. Another nice feature is that the mat/cover has loops on each corner, so you can stake it down with tent stakes if you want. It can also be used for ground cover with a sleeping bag. It has a waterproof underside ( great for storing stuff in the truck of your car to protect the carpet there ) and the top has a sort of microfiber feel to it. According to the the tag, it's 100% polyester. The technical stuff on the waterproof bottom is that it's 5K TPU laminate and 300 TC ripstop polyester fabric. Ideal for the beach and picnicking but really, it's great for football and soccer games, tailgating, etc. What I personally like about the company is that every year they offset the entire carbon footprint of the company and donate 1% of all sales to environmental causes. I mean, it's great they make lasting and usable products, but it's also cool of them to do something above and beyond. We keep this mat/cover in our car - there are so many places to use it. Recommended. Made In China.

I got the opportunity to get this and a Everywhere towel by Rumpl. While the towel wasn't bad, I was less impressed with it given the price of it compared to other towels in the market. With this stash mat, I think it has a little more to it with features/versatility to command the more premium price tag that most Rumpl products cost. I haven't properly put this through paces as say a floor mat outside a tent while camping but it does seem like it's well made and super convenient for sure. The mat is nice for having the build in stash pouch to fold it all into. Also the corners have a band to perhaps help hang or attach it to various things? But I also like the built in small pocket. While I probably wouldn't use this to stash my wallet or car keys on a beach and hope someone or the wind don't blow or run away with this nice flashy mat, it's a nice option to have! I think this will see most use the next few years for picnics and just tossing down for our little ones to play on when there may be a damp lawn or field we are sitting in.

I got this thinking I'd use it on the ground behind my car when I'm getting out of my waders after a day of fishing, but it would be just as good for a picnic or a place for a baby to hang out at the beach or in your campsite. I guess it could be used as a blanket in a pinch, but it lacks any real loft or softness. It looks good with that nice rainbow pattern, and I like the waterproof bottom for those dewy days. At 80 bucks, I'd prefer if it had a little more blanket-like versatility to it, as I tend to shy away from expensive items with limited uses. This one has an attached sack it can be rolled or stuffed into, although the closure system (one small, minimalist strap) makes it more of an open pouch with parts of the mat exposed. Seems like that could be a bit better designed. All in all, and in spite of the drawbacks, it's a pretty good mat and I'll keep it in my trunk just as I said.
