First time drone purchaser. This drone has been AWESOME. My son loves it. It responds well to controls, and flies fast and high. The video is good quality. It has an auto-return feature that works great and kicks in automatically when battery is low. There's a beginner mode to limit how far and high it can go; a cine mode designed for smooth video; and sport mode for flying fastest. The functionality has been incredible. The battery lasts 'a long time' according to my son and doesn't take too long to charge. We are having an issue with the second battery, and so far customer service has been very responsive and says they'll replace it. Although we don't have another drone to compare this one against, it has been a super fun, and an eye-opening experience in terms of what these little drones can do. We love it.

Having owned and flown the Ruko F11PRO drone for awhile, I was interested in using and reviewing the newer, smaller model, the U11MINI. Overall, and just like my experience with the F11PRO, the U11MINI was exceptional – both in terms of ease of use and startup as well as flying experience. I actually like the U11MINI slightly more than the F11PRO for several reasons: 1. Drone weight: The extreme lightness of the U11MINI (less than 10 oz) eliminates the need for any FAA registration. For a casual and occasional drone flyer like myself, this was a nice convenience; 2. The remote control: There were several aspects of the U11MINI controller that won me over versus the F11PRO controller: 1) the U11MINI controller is easier to hold/handle. There are no hand “levers” to pull down; 2) the controller is much more “button intuitive” – there are less on it for one thing and what are there are easily marked and remembered; 3) a cardboard template overlay for the controller also helps during the learning process; 4) the actual mechanism to hold the smart phone is so much better, as it actually expands enough to grip the phone. I have an older iPhone and it’s not even the larger size and it never was able to be safely held in the F11PRO controller, not so with the U11MINI; 5) no more Wi-Fi needed for the phone to controller connection – this is a big positive step. The phone connects with a small data cable (several are provided based on your phone connection requirements). I liked this so much more than messing around with Wi-Fi. One caveat however: there are two – almost identical cable connection ports on the controller. For the longest time I couldn’t get the phone app to display drone information - turns out I had connected the cable to the wrong controller port – and nothing in the documentation ensures use of the right port. Just to take a note here to be cautious to connect correctly. 3. Less steps in pre-launch preparation: With the new U11MINI, the connection between the remote controller and the drone happens upon power-up of each, albeit it takes about a minute for such. But coupled with easier and more intuitive lighting on the remote, it’s easy to tell when the connection has been made. The lighting displays also easily shows when GPS connection has been completed – as does the Ruko App. And the App indicates whether or not calibration is needed, prompting for such. 4. Better camera: I think the 4K camera in the U11MINI either is – or looks – better than with the F11PRO camera. One aspect that continues however, is that you need to bring your own SD-CARD for any video/picture captures. For the price of an SD-CARD and to provide the full experience out of the box, I’d recommend including an SD-CARD in the purchase and just raise the price to cover such accordingly. 5. More Precise Flying: While I haven’t done enough with flying using GPS waypoints or self-recognition or pre-planned flight maps, I can say that the U11MINI seems to be slightly more precise (and easier) in its’ flight control and abilities. I was able to launch it easily and safely in my backyard and control it with precision to avoid any obstacles. Overall, I give Ruko points for a MINI model that actually has improvements over the PRO series, and yet the PRO remains a stellar choice as well. At the price point of retail, I would offer up that the U11MINI is a great, safe, and feature-packed drone for beginners and pilots alike! It’s a lot of fun in a small package and really has no major shortcomings. Buy and Fly!

The media could not be loaded. Excellent Drone! Item arrived promptly and was packaged in a very nice and professional box. The drone came with plenty of accessories: extra propellers, extra screws alongside a screwdriver and a variety of USB cords. The included case is very nice and conveniently stores the drone, controller, batteries, and the instructions with plenty of extra room. The controller seems very sturdy. Previous models used WiFi to connect to the controller, but this model uses a USB connection. I already had the RUKO app installed and it automatically opened up as soon as I plugged in my android phone. The built-in phone holder is extremely secure and has rubber ridges to hold the bottom of the phone in place and keep it from falling out. The joysticks are removable and there's built-in storage alongside the bottom of the controller (see pic #5 - there's also a spare set of sticks included that I did not photograph). Starting up the drone is easy. Read the manual for exact instructions, especially your first time, but you basically turn the remote on, turn the drone on, and plug in your phone. It's not bad at all. Once everything syncs up you need to rotate the drone as indicated on your phone screen to calibrate the GPS/Compass. There is also an included overlay for the controller (pic #3) that has all the buttons labeled, although you probably won't need this after a few flights since the controls are so straightforward. Take off is easy and the drone is FAST! I did not expect it to climb vertically so fast, but WOW I was impressed! There are 3 speed settings and "cine" is perfect for taking video. The "fast" setting was impressive. The controller indicated it was moving at 40 feet per second through the sky when I really pushed it! Battery time is awesome, as well. It comes with two batteries and they are lightweight, but they have a great capacity. Truly impressive for its size and weight! I flew for 15 minutes at high speeds and it did it without the low battery warning even coming up. See my video for the takeoff and how stable this drone is in the air! Overall, I'm very impressed with this drone set. I call it a set because it really has everything you need to get started. It's also nice that you don't have to register it due to the weight, but please make sure you take the TRUST certificate and know the local rules regarding drones. I bought a RUKO drone a few years ago and was impressed then, but they've continued to improve and RUKO has remained a leader in the drone market. The customer service is also top-notch! Joyce, Hailey, and Katherine have all been exceptionally nice and helpful when I've reached out with questions over the last few years. 10/10 would highly recommend this product and the company!

For how cheap it is, it’s a great little starter drone. Flies perfectly fine, easy to understand and setup. The camera resolution is okay but not great, and is has no video stabilization, so it’s more of a toy with a camera than a drone that will give you useful shots. But again…. Cheap and works great for newbies.
