  • Amazing !
I’m extremely happy with this drone. Right out of the box it was easy to set up and very beginner-friendly, but it still has features that more experienced users will appreciate. The flight stability is excellent, even in light wind, and the controls are smooth and responsive. The camera quality exceeded my expectations for the price — clear video, sharp photos, and solid range. Battery life is also better than expected, giving me plenty of flight time before needing to recharge. Overall, this drone feels well-built and reliable. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a great drone at a reasonable price. Customer service was outstanding. I had a question after my purchase and received a quick, professional, and friendly response. They were very helpful and made sure my issue was fully resolved without any hassle. It’s rare to find such responsive and supportive customer service these days, and it really adds confidence to the purchase. I appreciate how much they stand behind their product and take care of their customers. ... show more

  • Great little drone!
Nice little drone! I had an issue with mine, and contacted customer service. I got through incredibly quick, and they were eager to help replace my unit at no extra charge! Which I appreciate! lol This drone takes pretty good pictures and video! I have had several drones in the past, and the quality has been far less than advertised. With this small, flimsyish camera, I was really surprised at how well they came out! The video is incredibly stable, and I’m really happy with the results! It’s a bit loud, but not overly so. I have had mini drones that were louder. I just wouldn’t use it for any top secret spy missions. The battery life is insane! The battery on the controller didn’t last as long as the drone batteries! I’m so used to only being able to fly for under 10 minutes! Between the three batteries that came with it, I was airborne for over an hour (total combined time)! As for the controller, maybe keep a USB power bank with you, and you won’t have issues. Big manual, yet easy to fly! Getting started seemed a bit confusing at first, but following the quick guide got me flying in no time at all! Be sure to read it!! For the price, it performs as well as drones more then twice what this one costs! ... show more

  • Easy, steady flight.
When I received my drone I followed the directions to charge the batteries and controller before use. Then I connected my phone after downloading the Rulo app.connection to my phone is wired so no messing with WiFi between the drone, controller and phone. The first time I flew it outside I was very impressed by the control in 15-20 knot winds. Steady as a rock! Return to home functioned very good. It landed back on the pad it had taken off from. I've flown it with and without GPS. I found it a little less steady but quite functional with the GPS disengaged. My flight time per battery averages 25 minutes, mostly because I always seem to fly when it's windy. I flew it once in light rain without problem. I found flying it inside where the ceiling was about 12 feet high quite challenging. I won't be doing that again. I have crashed it twice and did hit a chair which put a small crack in one blade. Have flown it outside with no issues due to the cracked blade. The video is clear and crisp. No vibration on the video. I'm still learning all the ins and outs this drone offers. I have contacted customer support a few times and they were able to get back to me the same day. They answered my questions clearly and let me know to ask whatever until I was satisfied. This drone is really smooth and wind- hardy.i recommend this drone for first time users who want start off with a great recreational use drone. ... show more

  • Good but not great
This is a decent drone and does pretty much what it says it will. The manual leaves a little to be desired, does not include some useful details, and was not reviewed by a fluent English speaker before publication and thus contains many grammatical errors that sometimes require a little intuitive thinking to unravel. The video quality is excellent as long as you're not trying to shoot very near objects, in which case, because this is a wide angle lens, the image becomes a little bit "fish eye". Great for flying in mostly calm conditions but doesn't have the mass or power to resist even moderate breezes and will get blown around. Flight must be in open areas in such conditions or you risk losing the drone. I do like that their software allows me to set my own restrictions on distance and altitude as well as "return" altitude. I'll comment, though, that for the small cost difference, if you don't mind having to register it with the FAA, it might be better to compare it to the labeled "upgraded" model which ought to do somewhat better on breezy days. My two big hangups with this unit are, first, it has a very slow rate of ascent/descent and will take about two minutes to get to maximum altitude or to land from it and, second, the farther away it is from the controller, even just straight up at 400', the video and telemetry can become choppy, making it less responsive to controls and more difficult to keep it clear of obstacles, requiring more cautious flying. I don't even want to imagine how it behaves 7,000+ feet away. Also note that the "return home" function won't go exactly to point of origin but will be within five feet or so. It would also be nice if it were easier to control the speed at which the drone rotates on its axis for "panning" during video recording. Note that this drone is NOT "remote ID" compliant but the support staff say that this will be available later via a software update. I was not informed how to get notified of that and see no available downloads other than the manuals on their website. An inquiry towards the end of the year might provide different results. ... show more

  • This drone is well built and a great drone for bigginers and long time drone users.
First off and very obvious, this is for the most part NOT a cheap budget drone. Granted it doesnt hold a premium price like DJI but it is definitely built very good quality in every aspect of the drone, the controller and even the case which has all equipment spots nicely molded with fabric over the foam. The case exterior is of top quality too and appears to be water resistant. The drone with its propellers attached and all the batteries and accessories fit nicely into it after being folded up. The drone has a rechargeable battery in the controller as well as the aircraft's. The controller Charges quickly and lasts many sessions. The drone itself has so far been amazingly stable and has not drifted all over the place as some drones I've had did. Its speed is surprisingly quick for the tank that this is. It's motors appear smaller than other drones ive flown but they do not lack power. It's not a light weight drone but its not slow. Much faster than other big name brands i've flown But don't expect to win any races tho. Battery life is amazing. It truly lasts quite a long time. My phone died before the drones did. Camera gimble has a drastic noticible difference compared to drones that dont have it. The picture is dramatically more stable and usable where other drones are constantly pitching to keep in place or move anywhere... Not this camera. Everyone who sees its video and still photos are absolutely amazed. Even in strong winds the picture is completely stable. It's lifting ability is very strong too... I have only strapped an additional GPS tracker and pager to it but im sure it can handle all sorts of accessories if needed. I have flown my share of various brands of drones including big names. There is no reason this company can't create some major competition for the more expensive brands. You absolutely won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • Upgraded remote operation not disclosed in owner's manual - very confusing
First, this was my first drone, I didn't want a toy, but I also wanted to be cost conscious as I didn't want to invest too much in this hobby if I either didn't like it or wasn't able to get the hang of it. This covered both of my needs perfectly. So from this point alone, the drone is a winner. Ease of Flying: It is an easy drone to fly, right out of the box and charging up everything. My first attempt was actually on a fairly windy day, and I was surprised how steady the drone was, and even how steady the videos came out. However, once you try to use some of the added features, the manual for this version is a letdown. The newer remote eliminates some steps in order to use, e.g., the Point of Interest feature (the drone will slowly circle around a fixed object to get a 360 view). The newer remote has fewer buttons, so trying to do the steps from the manual doesn't make sense as the buttons simply aren't on the remote! I finally had to have several emails with customer service (who were very responsive) to figure out the different way to get this feature to work. Again, very easy for a novice to fly, but became frustrated for a while. Performance: It's hard for me to compare performance as this is my first drone, but the batteries so far seem to be powerful and permit me to fly around getting my feet wet for about 20 minutes before landing. I'm still using the training mode, which prevents the drone from getting too far away from the operator. I'm sure I am ready to remove training mode, but it is a bit scary knowing the drone might just fly out of range! I think I'll try to do this my next trip out. BTW, I was able to buy a longer cable and connect a 10" Lenovo tablet to the remote instead of using my smartphone. I also bought a mount that holds the tablet similar to how you mount the smartphone. Having the much larger screen made flying that much easier: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09WHMM3B1?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0974K483T?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 Connectivity: I have had no problem with connectivity so far. Once the drone locks into GPS signals (which takes under a minute), it's just another 20 seconds or so for the remote and the drone to pair, and then to spin the unit several different ways to set the gyroscope. I've not traveled much distance (see above), so I don't know how far I can really go (yet). Speed: I cannot comment on speed because I'm still learning. From from my perspective, the unit does react to the controls quickly, and the video doesn't appear to be lagging in terms of real time. Like anything else, you do need to practice in order to get good. But overall I'm glad I jumped in with this unit as it is easy to get up in the air, easy to record videos, and easy to work on my skills in a field without obstructions. There was a sale going on when I bought, so while it was not a cheap purchase, it was definitely within the realm of OK for me to treat myself without spending thousands. ... show more

  • RUKO F11 GIM2 Drone
The Ruko F11 GIM2 drone is absolutely one of the very best drones I have ever owned and flown. It handles like a Lamborghini and is so reliable, that I don't even worry about anything with the drone when I am flying it. The only problem I encountered was the life of the batteries when flying, however, it really wasn't a problem but a safety feature built into the batteries. If the batteries aren't used for a few days, the start to discharge so the cells in the battery don;t get damaged. Now, I charge the batteries just before I head out to fly, and the life of the batteries are what I expected from them. One battery in particular, I get an average of 32 minutes from it. The others are not quite that good, but very close. I have 233 Kilometers on the drone, and I have had absolutely ZERO problems with it. The F11 GIM2 also handles the wind with no problem and the video is as stable as it is with no wind. If you want a well built, dependable, powerful drone, the the Ruko F11 GIM2 is your best buy. ... show more

  • Updated Review: Replacement Drone Works as Advertised
My original review describes the problems I had with the original drone. Everything worked except the camera gimbal which would never calibrate during setup for flight. This meant that the camera couldn't be pointed at all during flight. I had a few conversations with Ruko tech support. They made a few suggestions, I tried them but nothing worked. They agreed that the gimbal must be defective. They shipped me a replacement free of charge, no restocking fees, etc. The new drone worked as advertised right out of the box. I have not had much time to experiment, but I already know I will have fun learning how to fly it. One remaining point of confusion for me was that while the original controller connects to your mobile phone via WiFi (you will need the mobile phone alongside the controller to display the view from the drone camera), the replacement came with a new updated controller that uses a physical cable to connect the phone to the controller replacing the WiFi connection. At first, I thought WiFi was a better or more convenient option than a cable, but now I don't really care, the cable is easy to use and all the components -- drone, controller, phone, and phone app -- are connecting and working together. And the camera works too. My compliments to Ruko tech support. They took my concerns seriously and worked to address them. It's rare today to find a tech support line where they actually listen to you and care about solving a problem. Original Review: I am a beginner to drone tech, but comfortable with computers and tech in general. This was my first drone purchase. I really wanted to like this product. Although the instructions were very brief, I was able to figure out how to prepare it and fly it in beginner mode. So far so good. But I assume most people purchase drones for the camera function, not just to watch it fly around. And here is where it failed. The camera worked fine, good picture quality. I could also zoom in and out. But the gimbals for orienting the camera simply did not work at all, DOA right out of the box. It appears it was never even tested after manufacture. I read a few blogs, tried various reset operations, manipulating it manually to try and coax it out of its tilted orientation. But nothing worked. There is a calibration and orientation step during the flight prep, documentation says the gimbal will automatically move the camera into level position within 20 seconds of the start of calibration. But this leveling never happens, camera remains tilted about 30 degrees to the horizontal. And the gimbal controls on the remote do nothing to fix it. I called the 1-888 telephone number to speak to technical support. Support was prompt and friendly. After describing the issue, the contact agreed that it sounded defective and that I should return it. This will be a great product once Ruko figures out how to provide better quality control. ... show more
