Winch was pretty straight forward. Packaged well, Great instructions, easy installation, works as far as I know. I have not put a load on it but it goes in and out and sounds good. The cordless control is nice and works well from a long way away!! It's tucked in behind my bumper and would not be easy to steal!! Seems to be built really well. I haven't used in in the field under a big load yet but looks like it will do the job. I like that the control box can be mounted somewhere besides on top of the winch. I put mine inside the bumper so the control box on other brands wouldn't have fit.

This winch came in a very secure package and was super easy to install on my jumper. The hawse fairlead mounted right up with no clearance issues or trimming required. The winch mounted directly to my pre-existing bolt holes with no issues there either. Routing the power cables was fairly straightforward and hooking it up to the Battery was very easy. Only extra thing I will install is a power cutout switch for the positive lead to prevent it from shorting out in the event of a front end collision. The wired and wireless remotes worked flawlessly but there was a lot of crackle feedback in the speakers when operating the winch even with the radio turned off. I am pretty sure a noise filter will correct that issue. Otherwise I really love how it turned out!! Can’t wait to hit the trails and get some real operational time on it!! ... show more

This is my 3rd winch, and it's been my favorite. I haven't bought the high-end Warn winches because this is just mean for safety. I'm not intending to use it in normal off-roading. The first winch was a Quadratec Q9000, and then a Rugged Ridge Trekker 10k. The Rugged Ridge was awful. It never worked correctly, and the customer support was awful. I would send Rugged Ridge a video of the problem, and they would send some part where I was supposed to take apart and install. This winch came quick (2 days) and I loved it. I haven't had a chance to really stress it, so that will come this summer. But the winch was high quality and so were the components. Much better than my other winches.. Also, the instructions were far better than the other two. It's a full blown multi-page glossy instruction manual (8.5 x 11) with photos, etc. The manual control appears to be great quality and it locks into place. My only complaint is that the hook is shown to be red, and they sent black instead. The fairlead, rope, and remotes were all the correct color (red). ... show more

Many reviews point out that the included cover is not in the box. I found that to be the case also. They are aware of this, but choose to do nothing. The winch is a pain to put together. Most winches come with the control box already wire in. No reason not to. Wires are not long enough for a remote location. Has to be on top of the winch anyway. Release handle sticks. Do like the remote controls. Rope lasted less than a week. After 3 months of use, I realize it was a very bad purchase. Free spool doesn’t! Have to pull real hard, or hook to something and pull back with the vehicle. Or, use the motor to reel out. Motor is very noisy. Not a quality product. After 6 months, the reel slips regularly. Put a load on it and the gears jump, loosening the line. Remote operation is inconsistent at best. ... show more

This is for the NEW RUGCEL WINCH 13500lb Waterproof Electric Synthetic Rope Winch 12V with Hawse Fairlead, 2 in 1 Wireless Remote,Double color rope. The 1st thing I noticed right away was how well packaged this winch came and how much visually the packaging looked to the Badlands Apex. Having owned an Apex, I immediately knew who they were competing with. That is also where the comparison ended. From appearance only; I prefer the TANK! It’s about 3” smaller in length and a little lighter (not much). The dual color rope is very nice and thicker than the Apex synthetic rope (at least it appears to be). The winch is also slimmer and shorter than the Apex and visually appears sealed up like the Apex. The TANKs wires and control box are also very nicely done. The thermal protective sleeves on the TANK was a nice touch for sure and should also reduce weathering of the cables. I did unwind all the synthetic rope and “stretch” it while rewinding. I did notice the Tank and Apex motors were equally “winch-loud”. The Tanks speed seems to be faster and winding felt more controlled. For about $150 less than a Badlands Apex; you can get the Rugcel Tank. I definitely recommend from first glance as I haven’t torture tested the Tank yet like I have the Apex. The Apex is a 10 out of 10 highly recommend but I have no doubt the Tank will also earn that recommendation. Reminder: the reason most of these “cheap” winches fail is improper install, vehicle weight, utilization, and post trail care. For the “fan boys”, I’ve seen Warn’s fail too. For most folks, a $400 winch will do the job when you need it, especially with these new IP68/69 options. Just for good measure Warn is also a Chinese sourced half “Assembled in America” with domestic and imported parts winch; only you’ll spend 2-5x for it. ... show more
