  • Whatever happened to Rubbermaid quality
Color: Red Size: Set of 26 Style: Containers
The lids don't go on very well. Same deal with my Rubbermaid trash cans. Used to be, Rubbermaid was good stuff. It appears that the expression you pay for what you get still applies, I think. Off the top of my head, IDK what I paid and I have all sorts of things to do. My point is that Rubbermaid no longer makes the same quality as they used to. Very disappointing regardless of the price. Doesn't anyone still make quality stuff anymore? I figure that they do, but I admit money is tight. This is another long review, bear with me if I repeat, as I haven't written one in a while. This is funny stuff, at least to me, I'll try keep it brief before my French Bulldog wakes like just now. I'm editing this down so already wrote most. I assumed, like we all do, that I couldn't go wrong with Rubbermaid. I do have arthritis in my hands and all sorts of medical issues but not too bad, I've purchased Rubbermaid products before specifically because of the quality. I can deal with my arthritis, but I returned these, not because of my arthritis or the price a while back, after trying a few out and immediately noticed Rubbermaid wasn't the same quality as before. That doesn’t matter, since I'm certain I've purchased other Rubbermaid products (even from Home Depot in person but didn't check out the quality since I now have a French Bulldog, used to have two, but it's too long to explain. I will say that I easily got Luke classified as a "service dog", he's just a companion, my disability isn't as bad as most, I can afford the medical expenses in addition to the purchase price, shopped around, got a fair price for both, did what I had to do and rehomed first Frenchie Buddy since I tried every method in the book to housebreak Buddy - couldn't do it so I was overwhelmed especially since I couldn't housebreak Buddy, I now know why, wasn't due to being inexperienced. The thing is that I didn't foresee Luke developing separation anxiety upon having no choice but to rehome Buddy (BTW, Buddy is now housebroken as new owner and I agree it was the climate difference), anyway a friendly neighbor who I admitted I'm on disability said consider having Luke classified as a "service dog" so I could bring Luke along with me to most, if not all places especially stores, I did. I violate every rule in the book about service dogs, ask parents and and anyone interested in Luke who housebroke himself, if they want to pet Luke. He's a blast, but hard work as expected. Didn't know Frenchies would become #1 in the US and Luke and myself would become so popular, chose a Frenchie by process of elimination - short-hair smallish but all muscle, rarely barks, doesn't cry or whine, etc, sleeping right now. I don't remember what price I paid for the trash cans either, as I "trusted" in Rubbermaid quality, brought trash cans home, and tried them out at home, to discover same deal. I used to have all sorts of Rubbermaid products, still have a few, before I moved. I'm getting off track again, but I started having to repurchase items in the past that were made by Rubbermaid, not many, I don't have anything against Rubbermaid specifically, so I need to make sure that I get the quality I'm looking for. I didn’t return the trash cans since Home Depot is a bit far from my downsized house and can't be bothered looking for the receipt, if I remember correctly, Home Depot will give me credit if I don't have a receipt. I already started using the Rubbermaid trash cans, could easily clean them up and get the credit to make additional purchases at Home Depot. I don't have anything against Home Depot (or for that matter Amazon). I always take responsibility for my mistakes, so I'm keeping the trash cans and need to be more careful in the future regardless if it's Amazon or in person. It is convenient to return items to Amazon via the nearby UPS Store, but still remains a pain since Luke developed separation anxiety upon Buddy leaving - didn't see that one coming despite knowing all about separation anxiety, still a great dog but afraid to be left alone, he's fine with any dog-sitter, doesn't need an expensive trainer, just needs more dog interaction. My point is that I assumed that I could handle two young Frenchies, shopped around, always cautious since there are scammers galore especially with Frenchies, got fair prices, and very happy with the remaining young Frenchie. It's rather funny that if I don't pay enough attention to Luke he takes a dump on the washable poop pads (purchased from Amazon that are good quality) that remain in place for my first Frenchie Buddy. To me this is all related, as the main reason I had to rehome Buddy was because I couldn't housebreak him while Luke housebroke himself. I usually tell my neighbors that it was because two Frenchies were too much for me physically, not really true. I want to do what's best for Luke (and Buddy), IDK if any know where I'm coming from, I tried every method imaginable to housebreak Buddy, figured out it was the climate, as Buddy was raised in warmer NC, while Luke was born in colder Sterling Heights, MI and immediately "housebroke" himself. Knew owning a dog was a huge responsibility, still is. I'm lucky to have found Luke, I still feel that I'm capable of handling a 2nd dog, I didn't make a mistake purchasing two Frenchies, I did what I had to do and successfully rehomed Buddy, since Buddy is now housebroken with his new owner, who agrees that it it was either the climate or the that Buddy came from a 10 acre field in NC, both breeders were excellent, Buddy's breeder insisted he would only use the "outdoor facilities" and recommended I get a 2nd dog since it was the middle of the mild winter winter, I still chose to get a 2nd Frenchie Luke. Writing long reviews or messages helps me think things through, I can easily delete the unnecessary info, but I often choose not to, as it's often the only way I can defend myself. It's tricky since Luke will wake up when I shower, I don't mind if he takes a dump or pees on the washable poop pads. It's funny stuff to me, as I "joke" Luke helps me keep my priorities straight. He's right. Back to the Rubbermaid review, need to finish this up quickly, I haven't wrote a review in a while, as I'm disappointed that Rubbermaid no longer appears to make the same quality. It doesn't matter where I make the purchase, what matters is that I pay more attention to Luke who developed separation anxiety from Buddy rehoming Buddy, I admit that I didn't see that one coming even though I knew about separation anxiety from my first Frenchie. If I get off track here and there, I typically get buried for my long messages to family members who are very busy with their jobs and grown up children. I don't fully understand why they don't read my long messages here and there or bother to call say hello as I'm just as busy as they with Luke (and especially when I had two). The point is that I'm disappointed in this product, which I returned. I can write a long review or text a long message here and there, it's no biggie if Luke takes a dump here and there on the washable poop pads (only occurs if I get occupied with all sorts of unexpected stuff, not only due to writing long messages. I certainly know that I need to keep Luke on a regular schedule. It's not that complicated or serious. Despite being relatively inexperienced inexperienced with dogs, I make time here and there to do other things, and typically make the right call with Luke (and Buddy). What's the big deal if I write a long review or text and can't always keep now Luke on a regular schedule? So I'm disappointed that Rubbermaid isn't the same quality they used to be. Better go, the moral of this story is that I will get a housebroken dog from the SPCA, see what happens, since I can return a 2nd dog, used to be able to leave Buddy and Luke home together, so I won't be able to have two "service dogs", but it's the right thing to do for Luke, regardless if he overheats quickly, etc, it won't be as as much fun not being able to take Luke to stores by myself. I'll be able to take two dogs to Luke's favorite dog park but with hot weather coming plus winter, it just makes sense to me to give a more mature, housebroken dog from the SPCA a shot. The nice things about dogs is they don't complain about my long messages and texts. Ciao. ... show more

  • As good as you hope.
Color: Red Size: Set of 26 Style: Containers
Great assortment and meets all my storage needs; I cleared out all of my old containers -- as we all know over time they get lost and mismatched and such; and the cost of this was incredibly low for a wide range of container sized and shapes. Of course they're functionally excellent, it's Rubbermaid. I would note that at first it was a bit of a hassle to get the lids to lock in place but the lids get a bit more flexible or I've just gotten better at it with time and they go on quite easily now. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • Perfect
Color: Red Size: Set of 26 Style: Containers
I have used these for years. As a homemaker I’m always in need of containers for lunch preparation or just leftovers from dinner, these are great for both. The sizes in the set seem to fit most all my needs.

  • Heavy, strong and chemical-free!
Color: Red Size: Set of 26 Style: Containers
I tossed my Glad containers in favor of these. They are way-heavier and close easily and securely. And they are a food grade composition vs cheaper competition that can leach unwanted chemicals into your food. Buy these and NOT the lightweight stuff! A smart investment.
