This container is exactly what I needed. Its large and weatherproof. The downside...the lockability is a complete joke, and its not especially portable. I knew this when buying it so its fine but keep that in mind if you purchase one. Currently I'm using it to store a Makita LXT rolling tool bag, small Makita accessory bag, and CLC 30 pocket tool bag. So far not a drop of water has gotten in...even while driving the truck while raining, and sitting around while raining.

Don’t buy. Used these for the first time for a weeklong summer camp. Son opened it to pack it, closed it to travel, then did the reverse at the end of the week. Just used them again for a weekend trip and one handle on BOTH boxes broke off and fell on the floor. We have action packers made in the early 90s that are still going strong. Both of these broke on the second use. Find something else.

Great size for behind the third row of a suburban (see picture). Using it to store some emergency equipment, fire extinguisher, jumper cables, washer fluid, blanket, etc. The trunk seems durable, is very lightweight, has sturdy hinges and the locking latch snaps shut tightly and also forms a good handle for pulling the box towards me in the back of the car. The inside of the trunk seems like it was ejected improperly from the mold because some of the mold ridges are misformed, but it doesn't affect the interior volume or use of the trunk so I won't be returning it for a new one, but it does bear mentioning that it seems there are some issues with quality control.

Took two of these camping in the rain and nothing got wet. Please keep in mind that if you have trouble with your hands, these are very hard to pick up once loaded up due to how shallow the handles are on the sides.

The “virtually indestructible” claim on this line of products is a joke. The plastic this is made out of is VERY destructible. I don’t know why I bought the hype, but after 2 nights outdoors, the latch on this bin has been chewed clean through by rodents and can no longer lock. Go with metal and avoid these.

I bought 4 of these because they are so sturdy, weather resistant, you can lock them, and have no sharp edges that cheap storage bins have that can cut you when carrying them. They will take a 1/4" diameter padlock shackle. IMPORTANT: Avoid purchasing long shackle locks because only a short shackle will work. (Long shackles don't fit through the red lid clamps.) I recommend for these the Master Lock Stainless Shackle with a 3/4" (19 mm ) shackle. (They are available on Amazon, in four packs for good value.) But if you want more than 2 bins "keyed alike" go to Home Depot to purchase a larger quantity with same key codes. Remember you will have to budget for 2 locks per bin. They are not cheap, but if you're going to subject the bins to moisture, camping or weather they are the way to go. They are weather proof, but not submersible, (like a pelican brand case for example.) Only downside with these bins are, they do stack on top of each other in place. But they are too slippery on top of each other to transport 3 or 4 high on a dolly. Regardless...these are the best in the market; and I like that they are not clear for privacy and security concerns.
