Ok let me start by saying this is the 3rd bike I have purchased for my son in the last 2 summers. I got him a Schwinn for his first bike and the part where the pedals connect to the bike fell apart after a few months of use. So I bought a bike at Walmart and that bike again fell apart the same way after a few months of regular use, not abuse. So for my son’s 6th birthday I researched on Amazon and read a lot of reviews and decided on this bike. I am so happy with this bike and my son loves it too. Let me explain. This bike is solidly built and feels very nice to handle. Set up was a breeze. The best part of this bike is the ease with my son learning to ride without the training wheels. We had him ride it like it suggests without the pedals on and after he was zooming around with the use of his legs, we popped on the pedals which is a super easy to put on and take off. After 2 days he was riding this bike without the training wheels and we are so proud. My son was so happy to be riding his bike like a big boy and can now ride with his big sister and keep up. I am so thoroughly impressed with the quality of this bike and the ease of learning to ride without training wheels. It’s worth the extra money to buy this bike versus the cheaper alternatives online. The bike is well built and should last a long time. Seats and handle bars are easy to adjust as your child grows too. The bike is super nice looking in person and certainly helps a child learn to ride without training wheels super quickly and successfully. I wish I had bought this bike the first time around as my son would surely had been off training wheels even sooner then 6 y/o. Don’t hestitate, this picky mom approves and I highly recommend this to other parents with kiddos who need a solid bike especially one for learning without the training wheels. We have had this bike for a month and my son uses it almost every day and it rides and looks just like it did when we first got it. Will update if anything changes since I rely on others reviews for making educated purchases on items. Update: We are now a little of 3 months of owning this bike and regular use. It is still holding up strong. Nothing has started to weaken or fail on us. The part where the pedals attach on to that moves the wheels with the pedal movement is still solid and sturdy. No signs of breakage like our other bikes did by this time. Still extremely happy with this bike and have recommended it to a few other parents who were happy to hear about this awesome bike. Buy this bike! I can’t believe I didn’t know this existed earlier. I have 3 kiddos. All have started with a popular balance bike. #1 transitioned easily to a pedal bike, #2 just couldn’t get it, so I bought this for #3. He had a royal baby pedal bike with training wheels but dad accidentally broke it. He also had the tiny balance bike. We had been struggling to teach him and his sister to get the bike riding concept. I took this out of the box and I kid you not 10 minutes later he was pedaling the bike. His sister asked for a turn (8). She tried it with no pedals then we added them for her. After years and years of trying SHE was able to ride and pedal within 20 minutes. I really believe it’s the proportions of this bike. I almost bought one for her but then she got on her own bike and started pedaling! It’s been over a month now and you’d never know how much “pain and trouble” we had gone through to get #2 riding. Definitely a great 2nd bike if you started with a true balance bike or first if your kiddo is older. I believe they have smaller sizes but I can’t speak for those. We also got the one with one break and foot break. Only because it was cheaper on my part. We definitely didn’t need the upgrade as he uses both and doesn’t mess him up riding. ... show more

Lengthy post about a big win for us! For the past 3 years we have off and on tried to teach my now 8 yr old son how to ride a bike. We tried standard training wheels as well as oversized training wheels. He would ride just fine until we found uneven ground, then it became frightening to him to the point it was never really enjoyable. Bought the 18 inch balance bike, it came in yesterday and was conveniently 95% assembled. Steering wheel and seat needed to be placed on but was simple to do. At first glance my son saw that bike and I could see in his face, "oh great here we go again". After some coercing from my end I got him to give it a try. Had some learning error with the seat height. Advice to others, I naturally raised the seat to match his height as you would for any bike, but he couldnt balance well and kept bumping his legs into the pegs and it almost ruined the whole experience. Once I lowered the seat all the way it gave him the chance to really ride with his legs a little wider and with more confidence that he could catch himself when off balance. He gave it a go for about 30 minutes yesterday and we called it a day. He let me know it was fun and he really liked his bike. I thought to myself, yes we have a chance! Today comes and he's ready to give another go soon as he is home from school. He picks up the balance pretty well in his first couple of runs down our drive and so now he works to placing his feet on the pegs while balancing. I think wow that was pretty quick. Then after about 20 minutes or so he says let's try the pedals. I kept thinking maybe it's too soon but we go ahead. Pedals were a breeze to snap right on and he was on his way. He rolled down the driveway and just kept on going! We then rode around our block about 5 full laps. He was so excited but I was even more. In less than one hour of practice with this bike and it did more for him than the previous 3 years practicing with training wheels. I highly recommend this product or any like it for ALL beginner bike riders. What a game changer! ... show more

First off, the design is genius! I love how it easily switches from a balance bike to a pedal bike with a quick snap of the pedal. No tools needed, people! It's super convenient and makes life as a parent way easier. Can we talk about the adorable panda bell? So. Freakin'. Cute! Plus, the built-in water bottle is legit. My kid feels like a pro with their own little hydration station. Putting it together was a breeze. No sweat, no stress. This was a 5th birthday gift for my daughter. The balance bikes she’s had in the past didn’t provide nearly the joy this one does. Don’t get me wrong, the elefun one was amazing but she couldn’t use it the same way. She didn’t feel sturdy enough to get to actually balance on those ones until she was too tall and has outgrown them. This one is the perfect height and weight for her needs. She is ~42 inches tall (106 cm) with a 19” inseam (~48 cm) and weighs less than 40 lbs. I think the weight of the bike has a good deal to do with her success. It provides a great center of gravity. The seat and handlebars at their lowest are the perfect fit. The bell stopped working first day but a battery operated bell was never a want anyways. The handlebars already came loose once but were easy to readjust. I know myself and will never keep up with cleaning the water bottle so I just told her it’s her turbo booster jets. First ride on this bike she was a little uneasy and figuring things out. She went on 4 rides the first day and by the end of the day was starting to coast. It’s been 4 days since then and she goes so fast that she’s gotta wear a helmet now and will be using the pedals soon. ... show more

I put it together myself without husband. His beginner balance bike is getting a liitle to small and i wanted next size up. My just turned 4 year old Grandson loves it. He just barely touches ground with seat lowest so it will be perfect for next 2 years or maybe more before going to 16 inch. My daughter, who is 5, had a different bike that she wasn't learning to balance very well. I bought this one in hopes this would help and she glided for about 20 minutes to help balance and then she slapped the pedals on all by herself. And started riding within 5 minutes.
