    • Very difficult to program
This is the second one of these registers we have purchased, mainly because of availability and price. They are very difficult to program with tax rates. A call to support resulted in no good results and a promise of a return phone call. We finally got it programmed by watching a YouTube video and using a manual from another Royal register. In addition, this register came already programmed (which we had to de-program) and with batteries installed. ... show more

Hola! We just received ours. It's not set up yet, so I can't speak about its performance. I'll review that later. I just wanted to be sure and write about the instruction manual since I've noticed other reviews complaining about it. We also received an instruction manual all in Spanish. But, if you just look on the page where you bought it, you'll see a link to the instruction manual in PDF format. It only took a minute to download it. I'd rather have it in the computer than a booklet anyway. I've looked it over and it appears to be user friendly. Once we get it rolling I'll review it again. Adios amigos ... show more

We bought as a replacement for another Royal that stopped working, like the one before that, that stopped working. The only reason we bought another was because it was so close to the previous register that we all knew how to work it. When you have no time to learn a new register, it's just easy to get one that you know how to use. Hopefully this one is better. ... show more

Great for the value. But the directions are not accurate on how to set it up or use it and half the time when you try to use it correctly you get an error message. So it sits as a cash storage

    • Not all that user friendly
It really wasn’t all that user friendly. Your not able to use the same key more than once. For example, if someone purchased 4 items at the same price you just couldn’t put the price in and push the plu key 4 times. You had to enter the price and push the plu key 4 times. It really slowed things down and backed up the line. I did like the size of the unit. ... show more
