Wow! I usually struggle with shorts. They either cut into my sides, are too short, are too long, or are just uncomfortable. These Roxy shorts are soft, the perfect length, the perfect rise, and do not cut into my sides leading to the most comfortable pair of shorts I’ve ever owned. I bought them for a waterfall hike but have not yet worn them to comment on how they are when wet, but I can tell you that after reviewing the black pair, I immediately came back to get more colors for everyday summer use. I ordered a small and a medium given all the reviews that the shorts ran small. I’m normally an XS or small (5’2” 1/2 and about 113 lbs). The small works well but could be a bit tighter. The medium was huge. Guess I should have stuck to my normal two sizes. Oh well. I really don’t like things that cut into me and create lumps and bumps of any kind. For that reason I’m keeping the small. I won’t bother to get the XS bc I think the shorts would then be too short on me. I love the fold over top of the shorts... very comfortable and does cut into me at all! ... show more

These seem like good quality and are cute, but they do seem to run very large. I ordered a small and they are definitely at least a size bigger than expected. As others mentioned, there’s a drawstring so you can adjust and make them wearable, but I would probably suggest sizing down. They also seem more like running than swim shorts, and it would be nice to have a pocket. ... show more

High rise waist compared to the pics. It sits at my belly button. These shorts are soooo comfortable. They don't ride up in the crotch when I'm walking around or other activities. The color was closer to coral than red. Not a big deal for me, although I was expecting a nice lifeguard red. As you can see in the pics, though, they coincidentally match my nails which I had already had done prior to placing my order. ... show more

I love these shorts! Purchased the blue to use as a bottom to a swimsuit top. The color is more turquoise than jade. They are not lined so some type of underwear is needed but that's not a problem. I liked them so much I turned around and ordered the black. I'm a chubby sized 14 and struggle with muffin top but not in these. When wet they don't slide down and they dry quickly. They are quite short and I would prefer another inch in the inseam. However, they are wonderful for anyone who is no longer comfortable in a regular swim suit bottom and wants a little more coverage. These could easily be worn over a swim suit but I prefer a tankini top and the shorts. I would say that if you wear between a 12 and 14, the XL would be a good fit. They have a low rise waist that is cut generously and won't give you muffin top. If you've tried the Roxy board shorts that have the yoga style roll down waist band, these are the same without the fold over band. I much prefer these. ... show more
