I am about 150lbs, normal a small in tops and am a size 6 in bottoms with hips that don't lie. I ordered a medium after reading reviews and these run a tad on the small side. The medium is a bit snug but worked well for my hourglass figure. the high rise and the longer in seam really felt comfortable, I'm going to order more. These are really form fitting and very comfortable and they get the job done, way less expensive than your big name brands and these are quality trunks. These shorts are a good option for UPF protection when you'll be in the water but want more cover-up or more comfort if you'll be moving around out of the water. Well-built, this is a popular UPF brand for a reason. Sizing comments make it hard to choose. I bought a M and am 5'2", 130 lbs and they fit perfectly. Being 55, I was concerned the inseam would be too short for my old thighs, but they are long enough (and I will not wear short shorts). They are comfortable, and they didn’t slide down, even when I was rolling in the waves, trying to body surf. The medium is perfect; I am 5’3 and 145 pounds. I have other Baleaf swim shorts (with 2" inseam) that I LOVE, and I was hoping that I would love this pair, too. But, no, I returned this pair of shorts. Although the fabric was nice, the liner was comfortable, and the fit was perfect, the pockets were subpar. They gaped open while moving and while holding a phone, which was unflattering.
