I was worried this wouldn't fit up top because some reviews were saying the bust was too big and roomy. I'm 5'4" and 160 lbs (mostly fat, not muscle, lol!) and I got a large and it fits PERFECTLY! I like how it hides my belly (can't even tell I have a big one with this on!) and can be worn places other than the beach since it looks like a dress. It's very flattering too! ... show more

I know your troubles...you of 'matronly' breast, 'womanly' stomach, 'ample' derriere and hips;)...and you lovely young ladies searching for a suit that doesn't show off everything that God gave you! But we all still want to not make people run from the beach or the pool in terror from what just came out of the water, lol!! So now, the swimsuit. I am not as brave as some of you other wonderful ladies who were so kind as to take a picture of REAL women wearing this! And because of you-from the lovely young lady with modesty to the lovely 'older' woman w/ my figure:) type who posted also-I bought it! Well, now how it looks on me..like the young lady below who also contributed a picture (THX) w/ an 'apple' shape; I too am 5'2" 170lbs. (chunky;) 54yrs. old--2 teenage kids and a 'pear' shape, (LOL)! I bought the blue, size 14/16 and it fit just right. I received mine today and my teenage daughter actually said it was a becoming suit on me, haha! I really like the design. For a pear or apple I think this suit is really flattering. Covers up the fat in the right places (the back of the suit comes up above those weird folds of fat I received after I turned 45), the stomach and the butt. I have rarely ever found a suit that can support the breast properly. This is the reason I gave 4stars. The breasts are so nicely covered though! There is a great padding that does NOT look like torpedos (no embarrassment if you go into a cold restaurant or house after swimming) and an underwire so some of us older ladies don't have to keep finding moments underwater to "pull ourselves back inside"';). But the support from the suit is not there. I'm still not held "up" as much as I would like. I guess in order to accommodate every figure type the top is still a little too large (pears need more material at the bottom and less material around the bustline). I don't get quite the support I'd like in the breast, but neither is it awful. The suit is just so flattering that I'll find a way to sew the top in more! It is REALLY very becoming and other than some of us busty ladies showing some cleavage (not so much) it is really quite lovely. The material is very comfortable and the suit is something I would have loved when I was 20yrs. old as well. Honestly, that is I think the thing w/this suit..the fact that it will look good on old or young is a great design. I don't feel as if I'm trying to be 20, but I don't feel like a frump either!! Like the young lady below, I was never one to feel comfortable in bikinis-even when I was 20! This is a great compromise. Pretty for young and pretty for old! Beautiful suit, minor-very minor-issues. Do not regret this and glad I purchased-I've been looking for so long for the right suit! Thanks again to all the great reviewers with guts to show us how it really looks on!! ... show more

I'm a mid-size gal and love to swim, but it is very difficult to find anything that fits my hourglass figure where my chest is only slightly bigger than my waist and hips. For a while, I really liked this swimsuit. I love anything retro-style, so the design easily caught my attention. I never had an issue with the quality when I washed it and it never showed signs of wear and tear from tanning or after-effects of chlorine. I only wore this a handful of times over six months or so, and the more I realized it only gives the illusion of fitting properly. If 'your girls' are not the perfect perkiness, they do not fit into the bra. It got to a point where I would think the suit fit right when I first put it on in the changing room and make sure everything was properly adjusted. By the time I would get into the water, the front straps and bra wouldn't sit properly around my chest and rib cage. The material around the waist fit correctly, but then underneath my bum and bikini line, it would feel looser in the water. I'd come out of the pool making sure everything was readjusted so I didn't blind anyone. It might sound like I just needed to go a size smaller. But the bra is sew-in and the straps are not adjustable. The suit will either adapt to the waist, back, hips, etc. but be too loose around my chest, or the suit will be too tight around the rest of my body but fit my chest properly. Not to throw Barbie under the bus, but it feels like you have to have specific doll-like measurements in order for nothing to spill over, feel loose, stretch out, etc. If the brand offered different bra sizes rather than an overall body type sizes, I think this design could really work better and suit more body types. ... show more

I loved this swim dress so much I wore the first one out. I ordered another but it didn't fit because I gained weight. It's made of good quality and material. I recommend it. It took 2 years before mine wore out.
