  • Worthless. Doesn't fit GM large truck/SUV correctly. Almost no damping power. Returning
These shocks are incredibly impressive "looking". Massive tubes, massive plunger rod. Lots of "hype" about them being heavy duty for off road use blah blah. Problems I had: 1. The "eyelet" mounting ends, the "cross tube" part that the mounting bolt goes through, is WAY too narrow for GM trucks/large SUV's, about 1/8 inch too narrow. You cannot expect to tighten up your "mounting ears" to pinch the cross tube, they won't bend that easy on a big truck. You wouldn't want to anyway, it's destructive. You have to get the ears tightened onto the eyelet tube, otherwise they shocks are going to "clank and bang" on every bump in the road. I tried putting 1/8" thick fender washers into the mount ears, WHICH WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, to get them able to be "tightened" correctly. BEWARE if you are buying these for a large GM truck or SUV, they probably won't fit (and they are listed on Amazon and in the manufacturers website to be applicable to GM trucks/SUV's). ALSO, these are MADE IN CHINA, it's stamped on the side of them. ALSO, these are incredibly "mushy" shocks with very little damping power. One shock had even less control power, I could put the end of one down on the workbench and push the shock down compressed with one hand (by the way, I know these kind of shocks require "priming", which I did, several times each, and they didn't maintain any more damping strength. The best these shocks might be good for, in my estimation, is a "rock climbing" or "farm" kind of use off road, where impacts are slow and easy. On the road/highway, I could feel my springs reverberating and every bump set off a "rumble". Washboard pavement or brick road insets were an absolute nightmare of every piece of trim molding and inside-the-door mechanisms set off rattling and squeaking. I removed the shocks twice in an attempt to "re-prime" them, carefully keeping them upright so I could inspect how they were damping at the time, and when I'd press them down to prime I'd notice the oil inside "burping" through the bottom valve along with misplaced pockets of the nitrogen gas. Perhaps the bottom valves are defective, perhaps the level of oil in the shocks is not correct. I'm totally disappointed in these shocks. I prefer the reliability of twin tube shocks over monotube, and the massive design features of these shocks gave me a lot of hope for an excellent product. NOT. ... show more

  • Good shocks
I replaced a set of not old shocks from another company with these and was pleased with the ride quality. It wasn’t a huge improvement but the truck does ride smoother. I will be getting rough country struts for the front soon since these feel pretty good.

  • No lift at all
Doesn’t give the lift that was advertised and need to add spacers to get the lift that you are looking for. Front has 2” inch lift front rough country struts and rear has the 0-2.5” lift rear shocks and you can tell that it has no lift. So just be aware that it will not give the same lift as the front ... show more
