I have a John Deere D105 tractor, and I live in PA, so I generally mulch my lawn. I was using the included 3-in-1 blades initially, but if the lawn was a little too long the blades that came with left large clumps of grass everywhere. So, i found these blades, and I ordered them. Installing them is not simple. You have to drop the deck off the tractor and then install the blades. I could explain how to drop the deck, but there are great YouTube videos out there that show you how to do it. So, follow the video and get the blades installed. Shortly after I installed them I had to leave town for two weeks. When I came back the grass was HUGE. I was sure it wouldn't work, and I would have a mess of grass clumps. But, these blades didn't disappoint. They took it like it was a short lawn, and left almost no clumps of grass. They absolutely do what they say, and make all the difference in the world for mulching. I have about half an acre of grass, and now I just mow once a week and it looks perfect. With the 3-in-1 I had to mow twice at week or more to have a lawn like this.

I gave these blades a 5 star rating...but that wasn’t my initial grade. So I’m going to tell off on myself. I installed these in a hurry (I was short on time) and started mowing. After a bit I noticed they weren’t cutting very well at all. I was out of time, so I finished up for the day. The next day I decided I would drop the deck, and sharpen the blades...which I guessed were just not sharp. As soon as I got the deck off and turned it over I started laughing. In my haste, I had installed them backwards...upside down! Too funny 😂 I went ahead and put a sharper edge on the blades...since I already had them off. They work great. Cut every blade of grass I pass over. Would definitely buy again.
