I like the quality of this mulching blade. It arrived on time, and was easy to install on my Snapper riding mower.

It solved the problem with the blade that came with the Snapper mulching kit. There is less grass build-up on the tires and I can mow the grass when grass is wet.

Does not perform anywhere near as good as the original Snapper mulching blade with the dual cutters. Will need to use this as a backup as I have already replaced it with the OEM part

  • Works good
I've used this style of mulching blade on a rear engine rider for years. It works great. A few passes and most of the clippings and leaves disappear, and what's left will be mulched completely in with the next mowing or two. And mulching in leaves and clippings has made for a nicer looking lawn, in my opinion. And it's a work saver letting the mower do it instead of raking and blowing and bagging. The rider's deck has gotten pretty beat up. We have a lot of trees and exposed tree roots on our property, so occasionally I run into one and bend the deck. The blade then hits it and makes an awful racket. I've been repairing it by beating and prying the deck back into shape (somewhat) and pushing it back out with an arrangement of improvised stuff and a bottle jack. But the last time the deck got bent I couldn't get it pushed back out quite far enough. So I decided to just downsize the blade a couple of inches so it would clear the bent part. I first thought to save a couple of bucks and picked up a regular non-mulching blade. Didn't work for me. The difference was obvious -- long clippings left in the yard. So I went ahead and ordered this one to replace it and go back to mulching the clippings. ... show more
