At first I was concerned about how lightweight the wood sections were and was doubtful it would be sturdy enough. But it does look great and it is pretty sturdy as long as you don't put too much weight on the top of it. Lightweight vines such as roses and clematis should be OK to climb on it. It takes 2 people to build. One holding pieces steady while the other puts the pieces together. Make sure you use a level to ensure everything is aligned and straight and build it on a surface that is straight. The cedar smell was very strong at first but I can barely smell it now that it's been in situ in the garden and it has rained quite a lot. I love it. The birds are already perching on it and next year, the clematis I planted will be in flower (I hope!) and it will look amazing.

This arch was so easy to build and install into the ground. This is the first day, I’m excited to see the flowers in full bloom. Really good quality wood and it comes with stakes for the ground. I love it! 💕

I really like the look of the this arbor in my garden. For the price I thought it would be a little bit better made. The main frame feels sturdy and it went together easily. The lattice is pretty flimsy looking but if it doesn’t hold up it can easily be changed.

At around $300, I expected better quality. On a value basis, this isn’t a great product, however there are a lot of low quality arbors on the marketplace, and I suspect this one is above average, and should work well enough for light duty where it won’t be subjected to a lot of weight or stress. Assembly was straightforward and relatively easy, however I immediately needed to adjust the torque on my power drill after noticing the first screw plunging much deeper into the wood than one would prefer to see. This limitation of the wood density was again exemplified when I was trying to route my existing grapevine around one of the main support pillars. The vine slipped out of my hand and that little bit of tension as the vine slapped the decorative ornament which covers the two (and barely sufficient in and of themselves) bolt connections between the straight supports and the curved arch piece, caused the decorative piece to split where it was attached by two very small wood screws, as seen in the attached images. One can also see in the images that the two bolts holding the arch pieces onto the main vertical pieces do not allow for much lateral pressure before beginning to separate. Because a second one of the four ornamental cover pieces also ended up breaking as we were attaching a light string to the arbor, I will be removing them all and instead installing a stronger pieces of redwood across the vertical and arch connection so that it will not fail, as it appears it is about to do. Overall, it could be worse. I recognize that I’m asking this arbor to support more than it was designed for, but I also recognize that I should probably have just built this myself rather than having burned the three hundo and still needing to go buy additional wood and hardware to make sure it will hold up for at least a few years. On that note, I’m also weary of the thinner lattice pieces on the side of the arbor, as I suspect the small staples used at each cross junction will start falling out before too long, which let alone whatever issue that may cause the lattice, I’m not very keen on finding sharp metal staples in the lawn where my family and doggo walk around barefoot on the regular. For comparison, I included a picture showing an older metal frame arbor we purchased off Amazon many years ago for the same price. That one is starting to rust out in parts, but it’s given us a solid 7 years so far and is still hanging in there.

I wish I could give this 10 stars! I tend to always seem to buy things that need to be assembled. My husband reluctantly tore into this box to assemble it. I can't count the amount of times he said how easy this was to put together. He said the instructions were spot on. Everything lined up. All the parts were there. We both worked at it and had it assembled in less than 15 minutes. It's just my favorite piece! Very sturdy. Comes with ground anchors you screw into the wood. Can't even see them. We are SO HAPPY with this purchase! Please do not hesitate to order this for your garden, walkway, entrance or anywhere you'd like a statement piece of beautiful wood.
