Hubby and I (mostly him) put it together fairly quickly maybe a hour with no problems. Getting it level was the hardest part and since he’s an engineer, he knew what to do, I would’ve been clueless

I choose this Arbor for its more unique design, knowing it would probably not be as beefy as other designs. It took a lot of work to put it together (2 persons with experience). We added additional screws to try to stabilize better. A bit wobbly. We used 2 x 4's up the legs and deep into the ground with concrete to install. It looks nice all decorated for the holidays in my frozen garden.

I love the look and substance of this arbor. The parts are solid and went together easily. The instructions were complete and easy to follow, with good illustrations and descriptions. I'm fairly handy and I worked deliberately, without rushing, and it took about 2 hours. I plan to raise it slightly higher, using pressure treated legs to allow it to arch over a window. We'll attach it to the outside wall using thin wire to keep it firmly stable. Pleased, for sure.

I'm a 77 yr old widow, with no family. It took me 5 hours to assemble by myself. I set up 4 card tables in a "U" formation on the patio close to where the arbor would be used. Then, assembled the arbor on top of the tables. I stood between the sides and slide the arbor off the tables and stood up. Then, "walked" the arbor to where it would stand at side of patio. It is sturdy enough, that I did not install it in the ground. It stands between to huge 40 gal planters and is very secure. I replaced a wrought iron arbor and 4 corner pieces that my husband made in 1996. They were finally so rusty that they were falling apart. This is the first commercial arbor that even compared to the statement my original arbor made. I ordered picket fence corners from another company that also required assembly. I have had so many compliments on the new look. Everyone is amazed that I assembled everything myself and its really sturdy. By the way, I'm legally blind and see shapes and some color. A friend read all the directions for me the night before I did the assembly. Without this set back, assembly would have been faster and with a second person even faster still. This project has been so much fun an the results very rewarding!! Recommend a new arbor for your patio. This company has several designs, make sure to read reviews before making your selection for the one that is right for you.

This is an edit of my original "one star" review. The arbor arrived fast, and I know I'm going to love it once it's assembled and in place. My issue was trouble with assembly due to receiving several wrong parts. Yesterday, I opened the box and spent close to 5 hours attempting to put the arbor together. Prior to beginning, I had watched a you tube video on assembly. It appeared to be quick and easy (maybe a 2 hour job). During my attempted assembly, it became evident that Item #7 "Side Panel Horizontal Bent Rails (2)" did not fit. But.....I was not to be deterred. I was determined to get the Arbor assembled. I tried everything I could think of to make them fit. 5 hours later, I was frustrated, angry, and my arbor was still not assembled. There was no way those rails would fit without damaging the unit or trimming the rails. It (finally) occurred to me the supplied bent rails were not meant for my arbor and there must have been a mix up at the factory when they packaged the components. I decided to try and assemble the arbor without the bent rails. I then found the right post top was damaged and the arch could not be fitted onto it. All progress stopped. I couldn't even call the supplier and explain my troubles because it was a Sunday afternoon. They weren't open till Monday. So, I went in the house and vented my frustrations via the review process. This morning, I called New England Arbors at 1-800-282-9346 to explain what was wrong and ask for help. The CS representative was so helpful, reassuring, and kind.....a new post and correct replacement bent top rails will be sent to me (no charge) tomorrow. I will continue with my arbor assembly next weekend. Once the parts arrive, I'm sure I'll have the arbor assembled in 15 minutes. Tip: Look over all your items very carefully, and check those side panel horizontal bent rails. Apparently my kit is not the only one that accidentally got the wrong horizontal bent rails. The CS representative said they can be trimmed (if perhaps you have a wedding and can't wait for new ones), or they will replace them. All's well that ends well.
