  • Easy to install, very quiet operation

This Rosewill Power Supply Unit (PSU) is very quiet, and is working well in my older Lenovo Ideacentre 430 that lost power to my SATA/SSD drives. I highly recommend viewing several YT videos for installation tips, especially on replacing cables one at a time (from old to new PSU), understanding the proper orientation of the cable connectors, and using proper precautions with sensitive electronic parts inside your computer. It looks nice and is well ventilated; it is actually physically shorter in length (all other dimensions were standard/as expected) than the older PSU it replaced, which made routing and managing cables for maximum air flow through the case much easier. I think it is a great value, saving me hundreds of dollars over a complete computer replacement. The PSU also arrived factory-packed in heavy-duty bubble wrap, which I think could protect the unit from all but the most extreme physical impacts. I like semi-modular PSUs (like this one) best, because the hard-wired components are "must-haves" that are necessary for all PCs to run. The modular wires are plugged in only as-needed, helping keep the cooling airflow through your case maximized by installing minimizing cables to only those components needed for your specific computer's needs. The cables are marked for easy installation. Where modular cables are used, they plug into this PSU easily, but stay in place once fully inserted. The provided cable ties were a nice addition as well. Recommended for do-it-yourselfers (or people who have computer savvy relatives/friends); it took just minutes from unplugging the old PSU from the wall to plugging my computer back into this PSU (including tying my cables up to optimize air flow through the case). ... show more

It has been about 3 months since I’ve finished the pc build and I must say the psu doesn’t make much to any noise! Also delivers power reliably to my pc and its components! Just always remember when building your pc pre wire your usb headers and fan connectors!

Other than the 12+4 Pin 12V-2x6 Cable being part of the Non Modular cables the PSU is working great for me so far. I do not trust that New GPU power plug, and so I'll never use it, but having it non modular just added complications to my cable management of a SFF case so that is why I'm giving it 4 stars. The other modular cables are good quality, and have a look & feel that help me not getting them mixed up with other spare modular cables (I build a lot of PCs). $50 is a bargain for this class of PSU. It's a little heaver than I was expecting (always a good sign) and does not seem or feel cheap. Nice cables. The fan is quiet. I'd buy another if I need one.

I have a 9060xt 8GB and a Ryzen 5 5500, and it's perfect for my system. I put my GPU under high load to test the PSU, and everything went well. At $50, the 650W version is is a 5* supply for my low-midrange system, replacing a blown Corsair supply. Necessary cables were included, and the semi-modular design eliminated some unneeded ones. They're all 18 AWG, 90C -- a bit of overkill in some cases, and stiffer than the 20 and 22 AWG, 80C SATA and Molex cables from my old supply. The connectors were fine. In Fig. 1, Rosewill is presumably scaling the load across all outputs. Under that assumption, the 115V efficiency Eff(percent) in terms of output power (P, watts) is roughly Eff = 95.4 - 700W/P - 0.0157xP. The Loss in watts would then be 7W + 0.0465xP + 0.000157xP^2. Fig. 2 displays the cable connectors and capacities. ATX 3.x power supplies have shuffled current capacities: +3.3V and +5V are down to 18A -- but motherboards now power the CPU from +12V, instead of the +3.3V line. The -12V line is down from 0.8A to 0.3A. My ASRock B450m Pro4 motherboard is said to require -12V for the audio, though the ATX 3.x standard now has -12V as optional; 0.3A seems to suffice. And, of course, +12V current capacity is way up. Note that both 6+2 pin PCIe connectors are on a single 2-ft. cable, plugging into a single power supply socket. At the 375W limit, that's 31.3A over 3 lines, effectively 10.4A through each pair of 4-ft, 18 AWG wires. The ampacity for an 18 AWG copper wire is nominally 18A at 90C, so that part is OK. At 65C, resistance is 7.51 ohm/1000 ft, giving a voltage drop of 0.31V and power loss of 9.7W for the 3 pairs... probably OK, but most modular ATX 3.1 supplies use multiple PCIe connectors and cables. The voltage drop is going to be a bit less for the PCIe 12+4 cable -- less than 600W through 6 pairs of 18 AWG wires. Again, I don't expect any problems on a low-midrange system, but it's become hard to find detailed specs on motherboards, etc., so one doesn't know exact power supply requirements. ... show more
