I was very surprised at how solid this bed is as I was putting it together. In some cases even seeming overbuilt. It's used as a guest bed so I'm positive it will last many years. That said, assembly is a lot of work. I'm a fairly handy guy and I did the entire thing by myself. It took 8 hours total with only a couple of minor mistakes on my end that I had to do over. The instructions are decent but you're gonna need some common sense too. Some of the pcs were missing labels or not labeled at all. If you've never used the cam lock systems practice a little bit. Some have commented that they didn't work. All of mine worked fine. You just need to know how to use them. I didn't have any missing pieces. There were several extra screws etc. Just take your time and definitely grab some help. I think if you had two semi-handy people and a cordless drill you could do it in 4 hours. I did it all by hand with the tools provided. I used a 10" mattress and it works smoothly. Closes nicely even with sheets and a blanket on it. The finished look is satisfactory. It's not fine furniture but its very sturdy and very functional. Would buy again but only if I get help to assemble.

This Murphy bed is very sturdy and looks great! It shipped very quickly and arrived nearly 2 weeks ahead of the estimated delivery date (we received it in just 3-4 days). It’s the perfect addition to your home if you’re wanting a guest bedroom area that can double as another room most of the time. The parts are heavy and It does take a while to put it together as there are quite a few components but it does come together nicely (it took my very handy husband around 6+ hours to assemble it on his own). The shelving can be adjusted to different positions which is nice. You will want to make sure you measure out the studs in your wall to make sure the bed can be secured to the studs. The only cons I’ve seen so far is it will be pretty difficult to disassemble and reassemble when we eventually move and there are a few places where edges don’t line up exactly. One other thing that is still up in the air is whether the mattress we have in storage will fit or not, so I’d recommend to verify the thickness of mattress you have if that’s a concern for you. We did have a question about the packages initially as the bed ships in 3 different boxes but we were able to reach out to their customer support team who was very responsive and has kept in touch consistently to make sure we didn’t have any other questions while setting up the bed. A+ customer service!

This was a great purchase! Almost every screw/fastener had at least two extras, which was peace of mind in case we misplaced one or stripped something (but we didn't). The directions were easy to follow, and the process was fairly quick if you have a driver so you don't have to Allen wrench every single bolt. It's definitely at least a two-person job. We spent maybe three hours on the frame and getting it mounted to the wall, and another two putting together the bed and door. I will note that we had one piece of wood that was misnumbered in the directions, but the directions are easy enough to follow that you'll notice the error if it happens in your kit. The directions were overall great. I ordered the white one with the intention of painting. Warning: You WILL have to sand or use some kind of paint thinner if you want a good paint job, because the varnish on the wood does not take paint well. (I also probably needed to use a furniture paint, but I went in with wall paint because I wanted it to match my wall.) I decided to just give it 5-6 coats of paint to finally cover it instead of sanding, but the paint chips really easily, so I'll likely have to redo it at some point. Overall, this is saving a lot of space in my office (that's now also a guest room!) and it looks great. The bed frame is high quality, and my 10.5(?) inch mattress fits perfectly. I was worried since my mattress seemed to be a little over 10 inches that it wouldn't fit the recommended 8-10 inches.

This was one of the longest projects I've ever had to build. The directions weren't the greatest, so while I was assembling, I had to undo several pieces and reattach them which caused the cheap screws to strip. I had to take a couple trips to Home Depot for some replacement hardware throughout the process. When it came time to install the hydraulic pistons, I was double and triple checking the positioning of every component during assembly at this point. Well the brackets that hold the pistons were labeled backwards causing one of the pistons to get bent when lifting the bed. Of course once you remove the tin strapping that keeps them compressed during shipping and install, you can't get it back on. When I reached out to support, they had no idea what I was talking about. I sent pictures, item SKU, and part number, and they said they'll get 2 new ones sent out right away. I didn't want to wait, so I straightened the cylinder out with a torch and sledgehammer and recompressed it with a ratchet strap to reinstall. About a month later I received 2 shocks in the mail that looked like a lowering kit for a Harley rather than a lifting strut like what can be found under the back hatch of an SUV. Very strange experience. Whenever I sell this house, the bed is staying, I'm not going through this process again. Works great when we have guests stay over though. 🤷♂️
