I was very surprised at how solid this bed is as I was putting it together. In some cases even seeming overbuilt. It's used as a guest bed so I'm positive it will last many years. That said, assembly is a lot of work. I'm a fairly handy guy and I did the entire thing by myself. It took 8 hours total with only a couple of minor mistakes on my end that I had to do over. The instructions are decent but you're gonna need some common sense too. Some of the pcs were missing labels or not labeled at all. If you've never used the cam lock systems practice a little bit. Some have commented that they didn't work. All of mine worked fine. You just need to know how to use them. I didn't have any missing pieces. There were several extra screws etc. Just take your time and definitely grab some help. I think if you had two semi-handy people and a cordless drill you could do it in 4 hours. I did it all by hand with the tools provided. I used a 10" mattress and it works smoothly. Closes nicely even with sheets and a blanket on it. The finished look is satisfactory. It's not fine furniture but its very sturdy and very functional. Would buy again but only if I get help to assemble.

Except for one step, I assembled and installed this by myself. There was one other step where I should have gotten help. I don't recommend anyone doing this alone, but it is possible. The instructions say it takes 4 hours to assemble. Do watch the video that they provide. You can see that they did it probably in 4 hours, but they had two people doing it and a third there to help in a lot of steps. They also knew what they were doing and had all the parts for all of the steps already organized. That adds a lot of time. No matter how many people, watch the video anyway. It helps. They also had a very large room to do the assembly in, so they could do all of the frame on the floor and set it up when it was done except for the metal bed supports. Mine is for a small room and there was no way I could assemble it on the floor and then stand it up. So I put it together standing up. The biggest problem there was connecting the sides together, which was the first time I needed a second person. Could have used three for about 5 minutes. Also, when you assemble the metal bed frame, if you are in a small room, you will have to do it kitty-cornered to get the parts together. And you have to do them in a different order than they have; you need the part with the feet installed in the side rails right from the start. They show an easy way to get the arm up into it's slot on the video but not in the instructions, and the diagram of the position of the feet when installing that part could have been a lot clearer. The second time I should have had two people and didn't was when I took the metal straps off of the hydraulics. I could use chairs and stuff to prop the frame up at the right angle to put the hydraulics in place, but when I took off the last of the metal straps it snapped up into the closed position and I got hurt. Don't do that last strap alone. The directions say the mattress is a maximum of 10", I had a 12" one and it is fine. The directions say you can only install this on a masonry wall. If you know what you are doing with the wall anchors (I agree with them on the types NOT to use) and also put some screws through the back piece at the top of the bed area into studs, it is fine. The design for the back of the shelf area works only if your measurements for the installation of the metal wall anchors are perfect. Assembling the shelf sections on the floor may make installing the backs work, but assembling them standing up did not. So I am not using them. Which does not upset me much. I was impressed that every single hole and position for a screw to be inserted was perfect. The actual assembly went very well. The result is very good looking, it works just fine, and I am happy with it.

This Murphy bed is both beautiful and functional. We had a little bit of a hard time getting the feet to work as intended at first because the directions aren’t 100% clear but we figured it out and it works great! The company also reached out to me personally shortly after receiving the bed to check in and see if we had any questions or concerns. Awesome customer service and product!

I purchased this bed in May 2024 for my spare room/office. The rooms in my house are roughly 8.5'x13' and I needed the space to be multifunctional. This Bed comes with an optional attached closet section, which I have put to use elsewhere in the house. The bed itself, once put together, is the perfect solution to my needs. It is easy to bring down and bring back up, requiring minimal effort to get set up in a hurry for guests. It also has storage cabinets above that I use to store pillows and comforters for guests, and leave the sheets on the bed, which is fully covered when out of use. Overall I have been very happy with it! I will note that the set up is best done with 2 people, and I hope you like puzzles, because the pieces were delivered in 4 very heavy boxes. The instructions are easy to follow, but there are a lot of separate pieces and not all boards were labeled, which added a bit of picture-product matching to get right. The holding and bolting was also very tedious as I put the majority of this bed together myself. It definitely requires the bolting to the wall for overall stability of pulling the bed out. Once put together it is really comfortable with the mattress I picked and is very sturdy and doesn't threaten to close when people roll or sit on the edge. I have had multiple guests stay on it and everyone says it's the most comfortable they've ever been sleeping on a pull out bed. Definitely a solid purchase for small spaces!!

This Murphy bed is very sturdy and looks great! It shipped very quickly and arrived nearly 2 weeks ahead of the estimated delivery date (we received it in just 3-4 days). It’s the perfect addition to your home if you’re wanting a guest bedroom area that can double as another room most of the time. The parts are heavy and It does take a while to put it together as there are quite a few components but it does come together nicely (it took my very handy husband around 6+ hours to assemble it on his own). The shelving can be adjusted to different positions which is nice. You will want to make sure you measure out the studs in your wall to make sure the bed can be secured to the studs. The only cons I’ve seen so far is it will be pretty difficult to disassemble and reassemble when we eventually move and there are a few places where edges don’t line up exactly. One other thing that is still up in the air is whether the mattress we have in storage will fit or not, so I’d recommend to verify the thickness of mattress you have if that’s a concern for you. We did have a question about the packages initially as the bed ships in 3 different boxes but we were able to reach out to their customer support team who was very responsive and has kept in touch consistently to make sure we didn’t have any other questions while setting up the bed. A+ customer service!

This is a beautiful piece of furniture and it's sturdy. It came well boxed and protected. It also came earlier than the estimated ship date by 2 weeks which made me happy. My husband was able to put it together mostly by himself in a few hours. Our adult son helped him get it up against the wall because the pieces are heavy. Please note that the middle 2 shelves on each side are NOT adjustable and there are a lot of places for screws so recommend you get some white wood stickers to cover. Also, it's a little hard to pull it open, but closes super easy. Love this!! Definitely recommend. We have a light that hangs down. Make sure you consider your space when opening and closing. We fortunately didn't have to change out our light. Great value

This was a great purchase! Almost every screw/fastener had at least two extras, which was peace of mind in case we misplaced one or stripped something (but we didn't). The directions were easy to follow, and the process was fairly quick if you have a driver so you don't have to Allen wrench every single bolt. It's definitely at least a two-person job. We spent maybe three hours on the frame and getting it mounted to the wall, and another two putting together the bed and door. I will note that we had one piece of wood that was misnumbered in the directions, but the directions are easy enough to follow that you'll notice the error if it happens in your kit. The directions were overall great. I ordered the white one with the intention of painting. Warning: You WILL have to sand or use some kind of paint thinner if you want a good paint job, because the varnish on the wood does not take paint well. (I also probably needed to use a furniture paint, but I went in with wall paint because I wanted it to match my wall.) I decided to just give it 5-6 coats of paint to finally cover it instead of sanding, but the paint chips really easily, so I'll likely have to redo it at some point. Overall, this is saving a lot of space in my office (that's now also a guest room!) and it looks great. The bed frame is high quality, and my 10.5(?) inch mattress fits perfectly. I was worried since my mattress seemed to be a little over 10 inches that it wouldn't fit the recommended 8-10 inches.
