this is super convenient - simply place the stake in your yard and angle it up at your house where you want light to shine at night. then walk away and let the sun do its job to light up your house. Be sure to place the solar panels where they will receive the most sun during the day.

These solar lights work as expected: bright soon after the sun goes down, mediocre after 11:00 pm, sometimes dark by 5:00 am. They are not true spotlights because they cannot throw a beam of light twenty feet; they aren't bright enough to do that. But they do illuminate walkways and steps, which is what I use them for. If I want a true spotlight, I will get something with a plug-in AC 110-volt cord. ... show more

I got this product because I live in the woods and need lights around my home not only for path lighting, but to watch out for wildlife. Unlike other models I got from home improvement stores, this features a multiple LED lights instead of a single bulb. The large solar cell on top forms something of a hat, and it has stood up to weathering very well. Between the efficiency of the solar cell, whatever battery it has in it, and the ability to have two light levels, these are the longest-lasting outdoor solar spotlights of the many types I have purchased over time. There isn't a lot of difference in the amount of light between the low and high settings for my purposes, and I use the lower setting, which is fine for practical path lighting and wildlife avoidance. Note in one of my photos that the unit, when used with the ground stake, is not adjustable, so on a path down an incline next to the house I had to point the whole thing down with the spike as shown in the picture. This is a minor consideration considering the price and performance of the product for me. However, if you are going to mount the light on your fence or the side of the house, it comes with an attachment that is fully adjustable as shown in the picture. These are generally the first lights to go on and the last lights to go off in my varied lot, and I plan to replace the others with this product in the future. Recommended. ... show more

    • Not bright enough to illuminate my wreath

I wanted this to illuminate my wreath but it only casts a beam for 6-8 feet. It does however stay lit for 5-6 hours, despite our low winter sun here in Maine at this time of year. There are two settings and I have been using it on high. Since it didn't work for my wreath, I stuck it at the base of my white birch for some winter drama! Hard to photograph accurately, but it works well and looks nice. Long stake so it is very stable. Like other solar devices, it comes on automatically at dusk based on a light sensor. This is very convenient but also means that whenever I turn on my outdoor spotlights, for example when guests are coming, the light from the spotlights shuts down all the solar devices. So I can't have my spotlights on and my garden ambiance at the same time! ... show more

    • Not worth buying
My last solar spotlights worked great for 3 months. I purchased 15 and they just died. I purchased 2 2 weeks ago before buying more. They worked great for 4 days. So dull now that it doesn’t light up the trees. Plenty of sun here in Florida. Very disappointed. Going with wired ones next. Not worth the aggravation and waste of money ... show more

The media could not be loaded. One of my brighter solar spot lights, as long as it's on high. The lower setting is almost just an ambient lighting. Comes with your typical solar garden mounting hardware, either stake it to the ground or screw the mount on any surface. Simple to use with the one button, high, low, and off. Seems to charge well with the desert sun here in the southwest and light lasts all night on low, and about 5 or so hours on high. It has survived a few rainy days as well so it passed the waterproof test. Overall very happy with this solar light! ... show more

    • Brighter and larger than others
The solar light arrived, on time, well packaged, and defect free. The light was ordered to illuminate a step in the sidewalk, and I was looking for a larger, brighter light that was solar powered. This light seems to fit the bill. I couldn't comment on longevity, since it was only recently installed. The light has two modes, and even on the dim mode, illuminates the area of concern. Previous solar powered lights only lasted approximately 5 months. I am hoping that this one lasts longer. Solar power versus hard wiring the outdoor lights is the preferred approach for now.
