**In the photos, original Dyson (grey roller) is on the right, this product (purple roller) is on the left.** There are quite a few differences between and an original Dyson, the one thing that stands out is without the adjustment for floor type it doesn't seem to have great suction on a hardwood floor. It also maybe not to the best job on low pile carpet. Because of this lack of adjustment therefore suction, it feels like it's not really grabbing the floor like the Dyson one does. It seems to have no friction with the floor and slides sideways with no effort. Other than that it does look very well made and without a careful eye I'd think it was made by Dyson. So if you're looking to cut cost it may be an ok option, but I'd personally spend a bit more or even look for a used original Dyson replacement. ... show more

Bought this to replace the head on my Dyson V11 Animal. As you can see in the photos, it’s not exactly the same. It weighs a lot less, which makes it more pleasant to use, but 2 major features are deal-breakers: 1- there is no adjuster for carpet vs smooth flooring. 2- more importantly, when on “auto,” it doesn’t detect the need for more suction and automatically go into “boost” mode. I’ll be returning this. I bit the bullet and ordered the replacement head from Dyson for over $125. Depending on your use this knock-off may be perfectly suitable at the price. ... show more

I ordered this replacement head because my original one quit working. I was a little disappointed in the suction power on the carpet when it seemed to lose a lot of power vs the hard floors. Don't think it is worth the price.
