This reel has performed flawlessly since I got it. The components all feel of quality and the reeling action is very smooth. Unlike some more expensive reels that I own, the bale flips over easily when you begin to reel after casting. The spool, drag mechanism, and gears all appear to be high quality. They even skeletonized the spool to reduce weight. While I didn't weigh it, this 3000 reel feels no heavier than the typical 2000. In my one fishing trip with it, it caught fish. I really enjoyed using it, so I may keeping this one and buying another for my girl. :) At these prices, why not? ... show more

I have used this reel for about 2 weeks now I do have to say it is amazingly light, it handles ultra thin braided line with ease. I have it spooled with Kastking silky 8 8lb braided line, I pared it up with the 5'0 ultra light kastking zephyr rod witch is also amazing! The balance is absolutely perfect for this combo. The reel is butter smooth on the retrieve, the finish is durable and very bright! Thoroughly impressed with how smooth the drag system works. Great product I have been catching giant bluegill, crappie, and so far 3lb large mouth bass! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS 500 SIZE REEL!!!!! ... show more

My favorite part of this reel is the "braid ready feature", which saved me some time and also makes putting fishing line on it easier. Its shinny green coating also go well with my KastKing resolute fishing rod. Easy to identify it from my other reels in dark colors.
