  • Cute when finished
I made this one for a friend and it turned out really cute. The only problem I had was it is a puzzle like miniature. The pieces didn't want to fit into the groves very easily. The door for the battery fell apart right away so I had to leave it off. I would say this would be a good project for the younger crowd with a little help from an adult. Make sure you sand the pieces so they fit together and take your time. The little drawer was easy to assemble and is a great idea to store jewelry or other little items. The window front slides up and down so you could always add to the project later if you found something special like maybe a tiny pumpkin or the like. Have fun and enjoy. It's worth it. ... show more

  • Incredibly Easy to Make with Good Results!
Style: DS - Sweet Forest
These were quite fun to make and stress-free! I completed them both in two evenings and changed up a few items in the forest one. I decided to save the mini baguettes for one of my cafe diaramas. Pros: - Very easy to assemble. It only took one evening to complete each one. - The design of the box is well thought out as a whole; the battery box is hidden inside the back of the build and doesn't dangle. - Comes with little plastic props which are well painted; no touch-ups necessary! - The acryllic panel in front is actually liftable / removable. It acts as a shield but can be lifted up so you can touch your set! I've included a picture of it lifted. - The instructions were pretty easy to follow, though you have to pay special attention to the orientation of the pieces in the picture. Cons: - The wood can easily splinter. Since it comes pre-painted it's quite noticeable if your wood ends up splintered. The remedy for this is to glue the piece back on; in many cases you won't notice that it ever broke off! - I don't personally like that it uses the flat circular batteries; they don't last as long as regular batteries. - This is both a pro and a con depending on what you like / value. A good portion of the props are thick paper cut-outs. I personally like them, but some buyers may feel cheated on in value. ... show more

  • Super cute and fun
I've been putting a few houses together and came across this Halloween themed box. Super cute and super easy to build too! I did change the lighting. I didn't use theirs I drilled a small hole at the top and put a flickering battery operated votive with the flame in the hole. Gave it a more Halloween feel. ... show more

  • Beginner Craft
Style: DS - Sweet Forest
This is a great way to transition into miniature house crafts for the first time. There are only three pieces that require assembly from scratch. I took off one star because it said batteries were included but there were none.

  • Needs better instructions
So we didn't know some of the paper things you cut out of the instructions booklet. It wasn't very clear on that, and we thought there were parts missing! It was all there, however, and it's super cute when put all together! Other than the one gaff with the paper instructions, everything else was easy to put together. ... show more

  • can be done in a few hours
All right, I'll say this is the second time I've done a kit like this. Unlike the first, it can be done in a few hours rather than over most of the weekend. Secondly, it required a lot less swearing on my part and crazy glue. It was also a bit simpler. What I liked about this kit? Other than it being perfect for Halloween and having a black cat in it? That it included a much better glue than the first kit (and lots of it), and that it came with a set of tweezers to help with the smaller bits. It has a light in it, but it doesn't include batteries (the flat kind, you need two of those). Also, while the instructions point out what parts are what, the 'wooden' ones aren't labeled very well so there was some guesswork involved. The other kit did a much better job of that, and I had no confusion on how to place them. That might explain how things got a bit 'mirrored' in my kit, with the roses and grave on opposite sides (I guess I put the one board upside down). Also, I couldn't get the 'door' to work for the battery, and ended up doing without the doorknob - it wouldn't open and close properly. Small things, but a tad annoying. Over all, I'm happy with it and it's an ongoing learning experience. ... show more
