My daughter-in-law is getting ready to have a new baby, I purchased this doll for my granddaughter, which would be the older sibling, hoping that it would be some thing where she could treat it like a new real baby as mommy brings home the new one this doll is spot on. This is a great doll, but here is my caution: check the doll very carefully right away, and if it looks weird at all, order a replacement. I got this as a "Santa" gift for my 6-year old daughter, and I did not take it out of the box until Christmas Eve... big mistake. It's soft spot was a little too sunken in, making its head look smashed in (see picture). Honestly, I think they could do without a little of the realism on its head and just make it look smooth (it has that line where you can see the skull on a newborn, which is a little more accurate than we really need), but nonetheless it is very cool. I ordered a replacement immediately, and the replacement was MUCH better! Even the skin color on the replacement (the right side in my comparison picture) looks more even, where the first one was very red. They shipped me the replacement right away and I was able to swap it out without my daughter noticing, but I wish I had made a thorough look-over when it first arrived (you couldn't see the smashed head from just looking at it in the box). Also, I bought this on sale, so it was $50 rather than $75. I wouldn't pay $75 for it, so keep that in mind for the value-for-price. My daughter loves it, and her sister wants one now, too. I also think it would make a great prop for a play.

Bought this for my special needs daughter who loves babies and dolls. She wanted this reborn doll bad enough that I was able to bribe her with it in return for good behavior for a whole month! Yes I negotiated a month given this was a pricey purchase. She absolutely loves this doll. Lifelike and fits in preemie clothes that I get from the sale racks or thrift stores. She likes to change her baby's outfits often and doll clothes are pricey so this works out great. The quality of the doll is excellent. We got the one with no real hair which is best for her since she can put headbands on the doll. We buy real baby diapers size 2 fit best from the dollar store so she can change her baby. She tends to tear the diapers and ruin the clothes which is why I turn to less expensive options as I have to replace clothes and diapers often. She has a doctor kit too which she uses on her baby. This is an excellent exercise for my daughters development. She is developing motor skils, empathy, care and responsibility. Taking care of her baby makes her happy and occupies her so the money spent on this doll is well worth it!

We bought this baby doll as a Christmas gift for our youngest granddaughter who is one year old. As a grandmother, I immediately fell in love with the online pictures of this doll; it had such a sweet expression and looked so real! (It actually looked a lot like our granddaughter did as a newborn baby.) I couldn’t wait to give it to her as a gift! The doll arrived very quickly and was packaged in a nice, sturdy box with all of the accessories included (bottle, rattle, pacifier, headband, and baby toy). I was super excited to get it out of the box and look at it. However, when I removed the doll from the plastic bag that it was in, I was surprised by how stiff and hard it was. I thought it was supposed to feel similar to a real baby. Then I removed its little hat, and was totally shocked by the shape of its head; it was very “caved in” at the temples - much worse than the normal curves of a baby’s head. I REALLY wanted to love this doll and to give it to our granddaughter, but I just couldn’t get past the weird shape of its head. I tried to hide it with the baby hat and with the headband, but there was no getting past it. I finally showed it to my daughter (the mother of the granddaughter for whom I bought the doll) and asked what she thought. She agreed that it’s head was too strange looking, and added that it’s body was made of such hard material that it didn’t feel like a real baby at all. I also showed the baby doll to two of our older granddaughters (age 9 and 13), hoping that they might like it and want to keep it. The first thing they said was, “What’s wrong with its head? It looks weird!” Needless to say, I initiated a return/refund through Amazon. They sent everything that I needed electronically to return the doll, and I dropped it off at the local UPS Store, which was a super easy process.

Doll is cute but looks more lifelike in picture. The boxtop was torn off and the pacifier was magnetic but the doll was not. I purchased another doll for less money and she looks more lifelike. Size: I liked the 18 inch size.
