  • One of the best of the Rolex models out there
One of the best of the Rolex models out there...it would have been pure perfection however if it had the bracelet of the Deepsea Seadweller (its big brother)...otherwise stunning.

  • **** BEWARE FAKE ROLEX *****
I ordered my Rolex from AMAZON WAREHOUSE DEALS because it was in “Like New” condition and was discounted to $13,000 from$16,500. I have previously owned a Rolex Submariner and sold it when I was strapped for cash. I saw that Amazon was selling this $16,500 Rolex discounted to $13,000, and the discount would help pay the state tax. Having owned other Rolex’s you are familiar with the superior quality of every aspect of a Rolex. Unfortunately because the submariner is one of the most desirable Rolex’s, it has been meticulously copied for someone willing to spend $300 - $450 for a convincing fake. Upon arrival the box and paperwork were legitimate. However the watch itself weighed less then a real Rolex (since a real Rolex is made from a solid block of metal). The fake watch also had rough unfinished parts of the watch band and the screw down crown did not screw down easy. The biggest giveaway (actually two) was the date bubble that did not work right and the date was not magnified and did not clearly show the date. Also all real ROLEX’s have a hologram sticker on the back of the case that no one ever removes for at leas a year and would not remove it if you wore the watch for 30 days before returning it. Buying a Rolex from Amazon is not the same as buying it off Ebay where highly counterfeited items like watches and handbags are certified as real. I bought the watch off Amazon, since they are like Walmart in that they usually have cheaper prices and easy returns. However that is also the problem with dishonest people. I took the watch down to my jeweler after it arrived and he also could tell it was off, and even though he could have removed the back to check the S/N, he opted not to so as not to risk voiding the return policy. He speculated that someone ordered a new Rolex off Amazon, and switched the real watch with the fake. Once it was returned it would be resold by Warehouse Deals, or just returned back to inventory and sold as new. And because the watch came in a new box with paperwork the next unsuspecting buyer would assume it was real, and would have no reason to have a jeweler verify it, since it would involve paying them to remove the back of the watch to check the S/N. I would never spend $16k on a used car without taking it to a mechanic, nor would I spend $16k on a “like new” watch without having it checked out by a jeweler. It is just a shame that Amazon is so big that it follows the same return policy as Walmart and doesn’t properly inspect their returns, and you have dishonest people returning broken or counterfeit merchandise that both Amazon and Walmart markdown and then sell to another unsuspecting buyer or Amazon bundles their returned merchandise together and sells on eBay to buyers who know probably half the items are broken or counterfeit. ... show more
