  • Dog's Diary: Day 23 I have been given a new and unique torture
Size: Large/Regular Style: Purple Flower
Slept well only to find the morning a living hell. As usual, I've been separated from Brother's breakfast. That simple minded oaf takes so long to eat, I at once would take his meals. Now, I we take our meals separated. Behind a the bayhbe gahte, behinds it's bars, I take my nourishment...I plan. But today, my "caretakers", with their insipid smiles and baby talk, gave me breakfast in this horror of a food bowl. I looked at them turning "cute" up to 11 with eyes full of hurt, but their vapid looks and demeaning chatter told me that there would be no release from this new and unique torture. The bowl, my only joy in this "home", where I could wolf down my food - like the true wild animals my spirit longs to return too - gone. Replaced by this labyrinth of a dish from the Third Circle of Hell. My will is strong. I will show them, they can take my freedom, but they cannot take my gluttony. I will protest. I will not play their game. I will not eat. I will waste away to nothing. They will regret and relent. Dog's Diary: Day 32 My hunger strike continues (while my captors are watching). I feign that I am too weak to eat and lie helpless beside my "phun bowl". They carelessly step over me, snickering about my demise. ... show more

  • Be careful buying this bowl.
Size: Large/Regular Style: Turquoise Drop
I wish I could give this product a zero and I hope that this review helps somebody else. I first started noticing a large gash at the bridge of my dog's nose. The first I thought it was because she had hit it going under the bed. My husband said he wondered if it was from this dog bowl. So, I took it away and used her old one for a few days. Sure enough, it immediately started to heal up. Out of curiosity I gave it to her one more time (sorry I did) and sure enough her nose was injured again from trying to get down to get to her food. The raised ridges cause a large sore spot on her nose. So, be careful with this bowl I have thrown mine away and her nose is almost back to normal. ... show more

  • I hate, Hate, HATE this Bowl !!!!!
Size: Medium/Mini Style: Orange Swirl
I hate, Hate, HATE this bowl !!!!!! I used to be able to wolf my dinner down in 20 seconds flat. BANG! and it was gone. So what I went to the vet once or twice for bloat - who cares! Ize like to eat, and Ize like to eat fast. Now with this 60's retro psychedelic shaped safety orange dish, I have to work to get every piece of kibble. It takes me 10 minutes now to eat a 20 second dinner. Its downright humiliating. The shame - oh, the shame! Hmmm. Come to think about it, I haven't been to the vet for a while. Phhhhhht. Just coincidence, I'm sure. ... show more

  • Works Great
Size: Large/Regular Style: Purple Flower
This is comparing the large, purple Kyjen bowl (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FPKNRG4/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0)to the small, teal Siensync bowl (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01F3AZ5PG/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0). The purple bowl was purchased 2 years ago, while the teal bowl was purchased 2 months ago. They are being using with a 75 lb coonhound mix and a 55 lbs coonhound mix. Both bowls get the job done. I don't think that one design is particularly better than the other, but really just a visual preference for the human. However, since the teal bowl is smaller, more food is stacked, allowing for slightly larger intake for the dog (assuming your dog is large enough to consume large amounts of food at one time). The larger purple bowl has the food more spread out, which should take longer. I use "should" because the dog eating out of the purple bowl finishes sooner than the dog eating out of the teal bowl, but that's likely because she tends to enjoy eating more. Both bowls have roughly 1 cup of dry dog food in them as seen in picture. The teal bowl has raised non-skid detachable pieces, while the purple bowl has attached non-skid pieces. Since the teal bowl has already managed to lose 2 of those pieces, the large purple bowl wins in this category. (See pictures) Overall, I think either choice would yield desired results. If you have a dog that needs to just slow down some, the small bowl would work. If you have a dog that practically inhales their food, they'd probably be better off with the larger bowl to spread the food out more. ... show more

  • Excellent bowls to make dogs eat more slowly and provide some mental stimulation when eating
Size: Large/Regular Style: Turquoise Drop
These dog bowls are amazing! This version has larger spaces so it's easier for my dog to get the food than in the spiral and the flower shape one but for a dog with a large snout or bit tongue this is still effective. My smaller dog (45lb) doesn't get much of a challenge with this shape, but the larger one does. My dogs had gotten in to a competitive eating thing all of a sudden and the younger (4year old) and much bigger one (80lb ridgeback) started eating so fast she vomited every meal. I bought these to force her to slow down. I got three different shapes so I could switch them out to keep eating a challenge which is good mental stimulation for dogs. This completely solved the easing too fast problem. Both dogs adapted easily to using them. These were well worth the money. These bowls do make them drool more when eating but I just throw them in the dishwasher regularly and that takes care of the cleaning. ... show more
