  • Not what they promise..
I play guitar in a band. I have trouble hearing myself in the monitor mix. Okay, so I purchased these headphones for the sole reason that they promote them to be used as a monitor while on stage with other musicians. For this pourpose they are essentially useless and I give them zero stars. I had the signal from my guitar at just barely above zero and still could not hear my band at a very loud level. I actually have an old pair of AKG closed back headphones that I can hear other sounds through probably 50% better. That out of the way, they do sound fantastic. Nice even responce and clear as a bell. However not as good as say AKG 420s at $70 less. Sound wise I give them a 4.75. Comfort wise I have to give them about a 3. I only had them on for say a half hour and I got very uncomfortable. They were squeezing my head quite hardly. Now this might loosen up over some time. The ear cups are soft but slightly small compaired to most full size units. Value wise I can't do much for them as there alot of amazing sounding products in this price range and even down to $100 less. They are well made. Aluninum castings etc. No plastic. I would like to see them have replacable cords. The plugs were not gold plated as advertized either. I give them a 2.5 star here. I was really hoping these would work for me and unfortunately they do not even come close. I will say that for listening to music they might be the best sounding headphones I have ever heard! ... show more

  • Comfort AAA+++
These are the most comfortable headphones I have ever used. The terry cloth covers are very soft, not hot on the ear like most foam or leather covers. You can wear for hours with no discomfort on the ears. Not only are they a comfort to wear, the sound is excellent also. All the highs, lows and mid tones. I recommend highly! ... show more

  • These are nice!
I've been looking for some sub-$200 open-back headphones for a while. Reddit seems to be obsessed with the Sennheiser HD560s... but the construction looked cheap to me. These popped up under a pro-audio forum when folks were talking about recording headphones, so I decided to dig further. They looked exactly like what I was looking for, so I pulled the trigger. Comfort and Construction These are by far the most comfy headphones I've ever tried on. The clamping pressure is just right. The earpads feel like pillows around my ear, and they don't get nearly as hot as my closed-back headphones. They're also made of a little bit more metal than my Audio Technica headphones. Sound I would say these are a bit flatter in the low end and midrange than my Audio Technicas, with a bit more high end to them. They're incredibly clear and the sound is quite spacious. I do find that they benefit from a bit of added bass and a slight cut in the high end, but that's my personal preference. Overall, I'm quite pleased with my purchase, and I feel that anyone shopping for some open-back headphones should give these a look! ... show more
