    • The AX-Edge is totally awesome. Plus one can add a power bank for longer use.

Update: I bought a Yamaha Subwoofer for the studio and this sub really brings out the lows this incredible instrument can produce! The keytar has such awesome lows like bass guitar and a sub really allows the sound to shine. Subwoofer: https://amzn.to/3WRVdoC Also if you are not sure what batteries to get to put inside the Keytar consider the Eneloop. They can be recharged up to 2100 times and are very stable batteries. I have used many brands of rechargeable batteries over the years and these are best. They cost a little more than some, but save ton of money because they last for years and recharge so many times. There are a lot cheapo iffy rechargeable batteries out there. They just don’t tend to last long. Eneloop: https://amzn.to/3KbCTz1 First review: I love everything about this instrument. A guitar, keyboard and synth with FX all rolled into an instrument you can play, record in the studio with or perform on stage. Amazing. Some reviewers have had concerns over power and batteries. The Keytar does have a 9 volt power supply adapter but you can trade that out for a portable power bank like these: https://amzn.to/3UN4vRh Get a nice one. You can find them that fit in your back pocket or velcro it to the back of the Keytar. And get yourself a step up cable like this one. https://amzn.to/4dp5iix The cable converts USB power to 9 volts to power the Keytar. You will be jacked in and have power for hours! I hope this review is helpful. ... show more

    • Amazing Instrument

I was looking for an alternative to learn to play keyboard as a bass/guitar player, and this was an excellent choice. It is fairly easy to figure out the innards of the processor and a myriad of sound options. This is an amazing instrument and lots of fun.

    • Great, but it could be better.

Well, I have had this keytar for 4 months now, and the only drawback (Which is a big one) is the fact that it doesn't have an internal rechargable batteries, so I had to get 16 batteries (8 for the keyboard and 8 as a back up for live situations) plus a charger. Products of this era had to come with built-in batteries... The rest of the keytar is amazing. Good patches, nice options, stereo, the app, the looks, etc. ... show more

    • Even better in person

This thing is AWESOME. I have been playing guitar for almost 15 years, and have been really looking for something to help me take my basic keyboard skills to the next level. This instrument sounds and feels very professional and is insanely fun to play. The touch pad/pressure bar allows you to add a ton of expression to your playing, and the additional neck buttons help you really make your sound your own. I understand they can be remapped too. There are a TON of preset instruments, including guitars, and so far I think they all sound pretty good. I really recommend this to anyone looking to step up their keyboard playing. And one last note, the fact that I can stand up and walk around whole playing this really helps encourage me to practice playing with it. ... show more

I love my Keytar, It has so many sound options, my favorite is the vocoder. I have been using it pretty much at every gig to play the melody. Shoulder strap came with it, along with an extra silver blade. This AX Keytar is not as heavy as the earlier models from Roland even with all the batteries in it. It takes quite a few batteries, they do not last long, always have extras near by. I was able to play 1 1/2 shows with a fresh set of batteries. But all in all, I love it! Can't put it down. ... show more

    • DO NOT BUY. Your Modulation bar WILL break, and Roland WILL NOT let you fix it.
Color: BLACK Style: Boom microphone stand with a telescoping...
DO NOT BUY. Modulation bar WILL break and Roland WILL NOT send you a new one. I love the instrument, but the Modulation bar relies on a bending piece of plastic that WILL snap (mine did after only a few months of use) and Roland DOES NOT sell replacements and requires you to go to a service center. The closest one to me is too far. Instead of selling me a $25 piece of plastic they want me to ship the whole instrument myself or spend a whole day driving to a service center myself. That's a lot of time and money for a $25 part and 40-minute replacement procedure. Roland: Sell replacement parts to your customers who buy your products or I will not be buying any more Roland equipment and WILL discourage others from doing so as well. Ridiculous. ... show more
