A really exceptional budget priced ultra wide angle lens. Rokinon lenses and Samyang lenses are the same. Samyang is both the manufacturer and the brand name used outside the US market. Great corner to corner sharpness stopped down on an APS-C Sony a6400. Quite good wide open. For those complaining about auto focus speed or focus hunting, you have to remember that the wider a lens is the greater its natural depth of field. So in a very wide angle lens the difference between one focal plane and the next gets thinner and thinner from the sensor perspective. So finding the focus point becomes harder and harder. Also, I think some of the complaints are from people trying to use this lens for video, not photography. In any case, for photography subjects the lens is superb.     • Good performance, worth owning.
Tack sharp images in illuminated scenes with little to no vignetting or distortion. Low light image sharpness depends on lens aperture, and a sturdy tripod. Backplane pixel count, shutter speed, and iso affect whether the lens is used to its limits. Sharper low-light images can be obtained by meticulous focusing and reducing the aperture from full open. Well built, autofocus is fast (depending on camera features) and must be used with a modern digital camera body as only focus may be manually adjusted - no manual aperture adjustment is available. Alignment dot for mounting to camera body is white and placed on the outer lens body where it’s easy to find in low light. Currently using this lens with a Sony ZV E10 II. Can be used for night time-lapse imaging and can be focused down to 0.22 meter. There is some lens flare when direct illumination source is in field of view. A lens shroud and cap are included. Will buy from this manufacturer again. 👍 ... show more

i was very excited about this lens, but I hit reality. I opened the box, put the lens on my a6400, when I was about to try it outside, the lens stopped working, it wouldn't focus at all. then I tried with my other camera a6600 and it wouldn't focus at all.

Impressed thus far. No major issues have been found yet. Sharp images from the center to the edge. Autofocus is reasonably good. Much smaller lens than the Sony branded e-mount lens. Great little lens at a good price. I will be watching this company in the future. I expect good things to come. Recommended ... show more

So this is my first lens (I'm a beginner) and didn't want the kit lens for ZV-E10. Did my research and settled for a AF prime lens. So please do take my review with a pinch of salt and I will review for another newb like me out there. 1) Physical product of the lens It arrived in good packaging, box was a little dented, but what's not. Inside the packaging is solid and well protected. However, under a flashlight, there are noticeable traces of dust inside the lens. The overall photos are not affected, just annoyed me a little at from the start. 2) Plastics Same quality plastic as the ZV-E10. Solid, tolerance is built great and no loose components. Feels not cheap at all especially the ring spins with good smooth dampened friction. It's relatively light weight in comparison to chunky chunky kit lens that I held once. The weight distribution attached to a ZV-E10 makes the center mass right on the mount. So for heavier cameras, I'd imagine it will be comfortably be inside the body. 3) Functionality Bokeh is as expected great, but yet to achieve a maximum creaminess. AF is very fast and silent. Only my dog's ear can sense the autofocus. I did my research to convert effective focal length and f-stop value before hand, so I got what I expected. Overall, if you catch this one on a discount, it's a no-brainer. For the full price though, I would of probably stuck to the original kit lens. ... show more

Photograph for fun, so I want the equipment for reasonable price. Got this for landscape and Astrophotography with Autofocus (and sealed). Struggle with focus (I’m in good company there) but that’s on me and not the lens. Quality lens that opens up a new world to fun experiences!
